Chapter 53

"You won't be alone. I'll be with you... If you want, that is. As your friend. What I've always been more or less." You laughed a bit and that's when Jimin realized how his words could have been perceived from your side. 

He looked into your eyes, an apology leaving his lips as he had nothing else to say because what you were thinking was true. He had used you as a shield towards himself.  An excuse not to do anything he shouldn't because he was in a relationship. Yes, the only reason he had asked you to be with him and insisted so much back then was because of that. Because you were Seon's best friend and that fact was meant to hold him back on the road he should have been. Him being in a relationship with you was only a moral chain he had tried to cuff himself with, just so he wouldn't end up doing what he had done. Just so he could keep himself away from Seon and not hurt his brother.  So many years he had tried yet ultimately he still had ended up being the villain. The one who is to take the blame for everything.

"What are you apologizing for? You can't love someone out of responsibility. I'll be fine... the way I am, It's better if I don't get involved with relationships anyways." You told him, your eyes showing him your sadness because the truth was that you wanted to fall in love and for someone to love you, but if you were to lose that someone ultimately because you couldn't tolerate their touch, why go through all that process, to begin with.  

Jimin couldn't help but get up and hug you tightly after, whispering to you that you were worth loving which made you laugh, before pushing him away from you softly for you had gotten slightly uncomfortable under his touch for the moment.

He smiled at you, before whispering that everyone was looking at you both,  making you giggle even more as you looked around, pleased with the attention of your coworkers that you were sure that they were momentarily burying you in their heads out of jealousy.

But the expression of satisfaction faded a little as soon as you saw Jungkook standing by the doorway.

"Jungkook! Your brother stopped by to say Hi." You blurted out, giving Jimin a quick glance to compose himself as he observed Jungkook coming over, with a stare that could have chilled your bones if he had supernatural powers.

"I hope you don't mind that I stopped by to pass some time." Jimin smiled at him as he spoke as naturally as he could and Jungkook brought him into his arms, saying he was glad to see him. But his gaze was on you as he said those words, Letting you know clearly that he didn't mean those words much, and that was your fault.

Looks like I need to get Jimin out of here before he ends up having more ribs broken.

You thought and smiled briefly till your phone started vibrating and you got hold of it and walked a little further away, answering to Seon's call and telling her to hurry over.

Seon threw her bag angrily on the couch as soon as they entered Jimin's apartment as she had gone and picked him up from the company.

"What the heck do you think you are doing? Who in their right mind gets out without their phone? And you leave like that without saying anything!!" She yelled at him as the truth was that she had worried to death when she went to his room to give him food and didn't find him there.

And in this situation, it was reasonable for her to be worried that he went out alone but just as she was about to head out the door to look for him, your message had arrived and reassured her somehow.

"I was in need to see someone that loves me, okay!" He snapped somehow angrily, but his words made the situation worse.

"Of course! You love Y/N, you love me. Is there anyone you don't love? I'm tired of hearing about your useless cheap love!" Seon expressed herself quite badly, and the truth was that she immediately regretted it as soon as she saw the look that took over his face.

"Cheap, huh? Of course, my own love would be like that, because I'm not your perfect Jungkook. I'm just me, full of sins that I made with you because of this so-called useless cheap love you are talking about." Jimin was hurt and he didn't hide it even for a minute as he looked into her eyes.

"Go away! What are you standing there for? If my love is nothing just like I am in your eyes. Then just go away and leave me alone!" He raised his voice scaring her a little because she had never seen him angry, especially towards her.

Jungkook had never gotten mad at her no matter what.

"That's what I'll do! Do you think I'll stay while you act like this? I only came out of human interest because you were sick, you know." She shouted at him, mostly hurt and angry but the truth was that she didn't know exactly why she was so mad at him.

Was it just the fact that he left without saying anything, was it the fact that he went to You of all people, was it because he had dared to speak to her like that, which was something no one had ever dared to do? Maybe it was everything altogether.

"Well go then, for I need no mercy! Go. Leave me...I was the only one holding on to a love that only I can understand and only I seem to feel, anyways" Jimin dashed past her as he was angry, but his action brought him to his knees as he couldn't keep his balance due to the pain caused by his abrupt movements.

"Jimin!" Seon ran to him worriedly, forgetting all of her anger at the moment and he just stayed silent with his head down until a couple of tears left their marks on the wooden floor.

"Go away. Just go away." He told her without looking at her, but Seon had kind of picked up on the tears on the floor and the realization that he was crying had frozen her in place. Her heart filled with pain at the thought that he was hurting even though he wouldn't let her see his eyes and check for sure.

"I can't...I'm sorry...I'm so sorry. It hurts my heart to be hurting you but I'm just trying to do the right thing. I'm  really sorry." Her eyes got teary as she admitted the truth for she was trying her best to take any chance and just push him further and further away emotionally, but he was breaking more and more with each cold reply of hers and she couldn't ignore that. 

She hugged him tightly now realizing that he was much more important in her heart than she wanted him to be and no matter how much she was to fight that fact, she would break while breaking him. And that was just so difficult to bear, for both.
