It turned out Techno had a fever and Wilbur felt guilty not knowing about it.

Guess he wasn't the only one keeping secrets.

He was unconscious for a bit though and Wilbur was scared everyday for him.

Death scared him, he feared everything about it and how it took things, people, friends, and family away from you, only giving grief in the end.

The price of love that life granted.

Kristen allowed Wilbur to stay in the castle until Techno was nursed back to health and
he had to admit.

Those couple of days were the loneliest he had ever felt.

He would try to distract himself by wandering around but the guards would give him weird stares.
He didn't belong there, he was a street rat, he belonged out there, on the streets.

He still observed and watched though. He saw the guards train, the hallways be decorated, and even a painting of a woman with magical purple eyes be hung up on one of the walls in the hallways.

He was in the garden one day when he heard a shuffle of feet behind him. When he turned around, he saw Kristen looking at him, her eyes strangely bright but dimming a bit when she saw his tired bags.

She walked towards him and sat down beside him as he brought his knees to his chest. He watched the flowers and they sat in silence for a bit before she broke it.

"Pretty aren't they? Those are lavender bushes, they smell lovely," she complimented, only earning a huff of approval emit from his mouth.

His eyes were a bit teary, his hands shaking a bit as he hugged himself tighter. He felt his warm breath bounce back into his face, his trembling breaths begins to shake even more, and closed his eyes fading a bit into the black void of mise-

Huh...what's this?

He looked behind him and saw a purple gown engulfing him. Looking up a bit more he saw Kristen with her eyes closed, a face of concern plastered into her closed eyelids.

He turned around a bit and watched as she lifted her head to look at him, doing her best to smile.

He frowned at her failed attempt and felt his lip quiver.

"It's okay...he's gonna be alright..." She said, wrapping her arms around him once more.

He felt safe in the embrace, not caged in but protected from everything on the outside.

He could feel the breeze of the wind and the scent of the flowers all around him.
He could hear the buzzing of the bees and whooshing of the wind.
He could see the blend of colors in the sky as the clouds danced on the sky, the ballroom harmoniously corresponding with the light shades of flowers and the calm green of grass here on Earth.

She was a refuge from the world.
Somehow the queen herself made him feel at peace, like he could stay there forever and never leave.

They both shifted so that they were at each other's side and Kristen wrapped her arm around him and began rubbing circles into his back.

He leaned on her arm, his floofy air being blown all about despite the light breeze.

The view of flowers was all they observed.

He didn't exactly wanna look at the ledge beyond it, despite how spectacular the view would most likely be. His eyes were still a bit teary, but they were now a little red from the sobs he emitted.

He was still partially crying but he was getting quieter about it.

"The chirps~ of many Little birds~, the harmony~ used to play after the storm...for the world, always keeps, moooving on. You must fly and spread you're wings, for the day...Will come soon. Rest assured that I~ was there....for I will live~ despite my sud~den end....may you know that I am here~ for you will be....will be. My little songbird...sing..oh sing....my little songbird..."
