"I don't think there's anyone under your skin
Like a Cheshire cat, I think that you are just a grin
And I can feel you laughing under my skin
And the happy palpitations are making me grin"Draco wasn't the biggest fan of Harry's Hogwarts friends, but he managed. He and Harry had gone over to Lee's house for a party, which was followed by a party at Dean's a week later. Talk came of hosting a party every Saturday evening for the rest of summer, rotating through all the houses in their friend group. Most of Harry's friends still lived at home, so when they discovered Harry and Draco had a tent all to themselves, it became a much-preferred location for these sort of parties.
Draco wasn't averse to parties, but he wasn't a great appreciator of them either. He liked seeing Harry goof off with his friends. He especially liked the part where everyone danced and Harry pulled him close in front of everyone. He liked the way Harry held him and whispered dirty loving things into his ears, as if he would explode if he didn't whisper them now.
Genuinely, Draco enjoyed getting to know Harry's friends better. It was funny in a way, the amount of time Draco and Ginny spent together at these parties, knowing their past. Ginny had been part of Harry's friends before, but never really part of the group. Now, through her closeness to Luna and Neville, she was there every Saturday, as well. So, Draco and Ginny talked a lot. Mostly when Harry was drunk to the point where he could only speak in flirty tones and his dancing became unbearable to watch. Draco and Ginny would laugh at him, almost embarrassed to have had feelings for him in the first place (although Draco still harboured these very strong feelings for him, of course).
Ginny was cool about it, though, she never made weird faces anymore, and she didn't outwardly hate the fact Draco was the one who took Harry home at the end of the day. Suppose it was for the best, considering Ginny still lived at the Burrow. Even outside of the parties, she has had to endure the vision of Draco and Harry together for a while now. It was probably why Draco liked talking to her. She had risen above to a level Draco couldn't even imagine, and it made her seem much more mature than Draco could ever be.
Draco also liked talking to Dean and Seamus, mostly about gay stuff. Rather typical, Draco knew that. But with the two of them having been dating for longer than Harry and Draco, it was like getting a sneak peek into his future (if he played his cards right in the long run). Also, sex talk hits different when it's with other gay guys. Ron and Hermione were more reserved for Harry to have such conversations with, and Fred was simply too much of a clown to take such a conversation with Draco seriously. Or at least, that's what he assumed. He hadn't bothered. Fred always had either his boyfriend or his twin around him. Weasleys were truly never alone, were they?
At some point, Draco, Harry, Dean, and Seamus threw the idea around of going to a gay club together, somewhere in London. Draco knew he wasn't going to do it, most likely, but he liked being invited. And he liked the way Harry was super excited for it.
Here's the thing. Draco didn't drink. Harry did. Harry didn't mind being around loud groups of people, all equally drunk. Draco hated it. He loved Harry, and he enjoyed his conversations enough to tolerate the parties at the tent. But a club? With loud, drunk gays? He'd rather pass. It would be better than a bar with loud straight people, but still.
Draco was the type of person to want to spend his evening with a good book, and Harry could be like that too, sometimes. Yet, Harry was more extraverted. A whole lot more. Draco was definitely an introvert. At each party, he'd end up somewhere in an empty room, reading a book, or playing around with some magic spells. Harry would find him like a game of hide and seek, kiss him, and ask to go home. Draco would smile and say "Already?" like he hadn't wanted to leave for at least three hours already.
