Chapter 68

"Why did you go with him? Wasn't I enough?" Seon's eyes immediately got filled with tears, having found herself in an unexpected moment of conviction.

"Jungkook...I..." She couldn't find words at that moment, she didn't know what to say to him, what of all the things that flowed like a storm in her mind was appropriate to tell to him at this moment.

"You know you betrayed me not once but twice, right? Because he's my brother. Do you really think I deserve such a betrayal? DID I NOT LOVE YOU ENOUGH?!" He screamed in her face, making her heart sink in grief and guilt.

How much pain and brokenness could it take, for someone like Jungkook who never even raised his voice in Seon's presence to now scream at her like that?

"Jungkook-"

"Shut up! I'm talking to my wife right now!" Jungkook cut Jimin off, who decided to speak in an attempt to get Seon out of this difficult position.

"No, I'm not gonna shut up! I understand you're furious because anyone would be but I love Seon and I won't let you talk to her like that!" He persisted having bravely admitted to his brother something that might not have been the right time to say out loud.

But instead of Jungkook getting upset as you were expecting him to, he just fell silent and then out of a sudden he started laughing. He released Seon and sat in his chair still laughing, having startled the others who looked at him with worry and fear.

"Since you guys love each other, why didn't you say so already? That obviously changes everything.  Do you want me to wish you too?" His laughter suddenly stopped as he finished this sentence and now a shiver ran through your body, having seen that crazy look that he had in his orbs in the past as his tongue dripped with sarcasm.

"We-we're not saying that. I don't know how it happened exactly but I want you to know that it's not your fault Jungkook. You didn't do anything wrong, it just happened and I'm really sorry." Seon managed to speak, having said a few of her feelings.

Jungkook brought his eyes on her and for a few minutes just stared at her, a silence falling in the room until he spoke again. 

"If you regret it, then what does that mean? Will you stay with me?... Are you choosing me over him?" He asked her and her breath somehow caught in her throat as she was called to make a decision that felt deadly.

Her feelings were a mess but Jungkook was always good to her, he loved her and was by her side for years. He was the man she had married and she was the one who had been dishonourable to him. Normally he should hate her and never even think of taking her back but the moment he asked her such a question, it appeared as one more proof of how he loved her enough to swallow such knives just to have her. How could she hurt him a second time by rejecting him?

"I'll stay with you... I love you. I promise it won't happen again... It was a mistake. I never had feelings for Jimin, I just got carried away... I'm sorry." Seon's answer was filled with lies that contributed to society's morals and her heart was filled with regrets towards Jungkook instead of choosing the whole truth that fed her heart and a piece of her happiness.

But with these words of hers, she had not only brought a wave of unhappiness to herself but also to Jimin, to whom these words were believable and deeply hurt him. He had waited so many years, he had risked the relationship with his brother and had lost it all, for ultimately his love, didn't choose him back.

Jungkook turned to face Jimin after Seon gave her answer, her head now facing the floor.

"You heard her. You are nothing to her. You betrayed your brother for a mere nothing. Do you have anything to say for yourself?" Jimin looked up and met Jungkook's gaze before his hand balled into a fist at his side, causing you to quickly go to his side and wrap your hand around his fist in an attempt to prevent him from doing something that could make things worse.

"You act like you are emotionless, you know that?" Those words left Jimin's lips and Jungkook stepped up and grabbed him by the collar, bringing him closer to him and freezing both women's hearts with momentary fear.

"If you knew my pain you might understand how much I wish that word to have been true." He whispered in his ear before, his eyes meeting his, making Jimin's heart tear in two at the pain Jungkook showed in his gaze for those few minutes.

"From today onwards I don't want to see you again. And of course, you won't come close to my wife, not even within a hundred meters " Jungkook announced as he let go of Jimin and then turned around and gently took Seon's hand, leading her out of the office, she not once looking back to meet Jimin's sad eyes that till the last moment, were hoping to get something from her, that never came.
