Chapter 1: Proposal

Hu Tao: "Tell me Y/N: Was. She. Pretty?"

Y/N: "I don't know! I wasn't really paying attention to that because—"

Hu Tao: "She had a big chest I bet! You were just too busy looking at her chest to notice anything else about her!"

Y/N: "I really wasn't..."

Hu Tao: "I'm sorry that I'm not big enough for you! But there's not much I can do about that now, is there?!!"

Y/N: "Hu Tao..."

Hu Tao: "I'm sorry I'm not good enough for you! But I thought my love was enough!!"

Y/N: "Hey now! Hu Tao, listen to—"

Hu Tao: "Why don't you just go catch up with your upgrade before she gets too far away and—"

* pomf *

I... I wasn't getting through to her with only my words, so whilst she was yelling at me with her eyes now filled with a thousand tears, I quickly made my approach before she could react and get away from me – and I wrapped my arms tightly around my girlfriend. Holding her close into me, she was trying to push me away, to distance herself, but I can't let her do that... not until I've cleared up her misunderstanding.

Hu Tao: "g–Get off of me!"

Y/N: "Hu Tao, my one and only, please listen to me. You misunderstood my intentions."

Hu Tao: "Yeah right! Try and explain your way out of this one!"

Y/N: "I was only trying to return the favour onto you. After all, do you remember what it was that you said about Xiao?"

Hu Tao: "I... but that was different! He wasn't with us when I made that joke!"

Y/N: "I never said anything about interest in that girl though, did I? I certainly didn't refer to her as an Adeptus one can call at a moments notice should I be feeling a tad lonely..."

Hu Tao: "I..."

Y/N: "And when you mentioned how all you need do is send a commission out and Aether would come running to help..."

Hu Tao: "I... I didn't mean it like that..."

Y/N: "I know. I know, my walnut. That's why I thought I'd try my hand at it too. I just didn't expect... such a reaction out of it..."

Hu Tao: "I... I'M SORRY!"

* pomf! *

Finally, it seems that Hu Tao was willing to return the tight embrace I held her in. As she had now wrapped her arms around me too, with her head crashing against my chest whilst the tsunami of tears drenched my shirt. But I didn't mind, I was just glad to have her back in my arms like this.

Hu Tao, my one and only.

A long while later and the two of us finally separated from one another. The front of my shirt looking like I'd just fallen into the sea once again, and yet my back was completely dry.
