Don't even ask how the girl knew where Ben was. Her cousin worked at the hospital and said some guy around her age was admitted in. So she went there. It was very easy to ask the front receptionist to give the girl his room.
The girl knocked on the door and walked in. She was confused to see Paxton on his laptop.
"Oh hi."
"Hi." Paxton said, closing his laptop.
"Is Ben ok? I brought him the AP Calc homework."
Paxton nodded. "He's in surgery."
The girl's eyes widened. "Surgery?"
Paxton shook his head. "Nothing too serious. He just had a lot of shit in his colon. They're currently taking it out."
Carly couldn't help but burst into laughter. She really thought something bad was happening to her friend, but it turns out he was constipated. Well that's embarrassing.
"I'm sorry. I can't help it." Carly said still laughing.
Paxton laughed along with the girl. It was nice hearing her laugh again. "Don't be. That's exactly my reaction."
"I seriously thought something bad happened."
Before the boy could say anything, the nurses rolled in Ben. Apparently they needed to stay a bit to let Ben release a form of gas. In other words, a fart.
Oh this was getting too good.
"I'm so embarrassed." Ben groaned.
Carly chuckled and walked towards the boy. "Don't be. I'm not one to judge."
"I don't care. This is just so..."
"Ben... it's ok."
Ben sighed. "Why are you here Carls? Not that I don't want you here I..."
"I brought you the homework? And besides I saw you walked out in pain so I thought I'll check on you."
Ben smiled. "Thanks Carls."
"You're my friend. It's what friends do." Ben smiled, ignoring the weird stares from Paxton. "You guys need anything? I'll go get us some snacks."
