A week later.

It was hard to believe that the man sitting across from him was the same man he'd seen huddled up in some dark corner of a room, on the verge of death. Jimin was in a lot of ways grateful that his voice could reach Jungkook and pull him out of that mental hell. Being trapped in the horrors of what your mind could create from grief and regret was horrifying. Jimin should know. He'd been there once before in his life but unlike Jungkook, he didn't have anyone to pull him out of it. It was something he had to face on his own. Perhaps that made him just a little stronger than Jungkook. Jungkook had cleaned himself up, had their room deep cleaned and seemed to be working hard to return himself to normalcy. But Jimin knew they still had a lot to work out. To figure out. It wasn't as if that tender moment could just erase all that happened in the blink of an eye. Jungkook seemed to understand that at least and Jimin was grateful that the Alpha was done forcing anything on him. Jungkook pleaded with him to give him a second chance to prove he wasn't a complete piece of shit and make amends for all the pain and hurt he'd caused. Jimin was hesitant. That had been his moment to escape if he really wanted to. If he wanted to. But in that day that he'd come to see Jungkook, something started to shift inside of him in a way he couldn't quite understand. He could see Jungkook in a new light and it almost seemed brighter.

" – good?" Jungkook's voice cut into his thoughts as Jimin blinked and seemed to snap out of his daze.

"H – Huh?" Jimin answered.

"Your smoothie? Is it good? You were craving it right?" Jungkook asked, tilting his head.

Jimin looked down at the green matcha smoothie that he'd begged Jungkook to get for him, tasting the undertones of caramel and mango that he'd been craving to mix in it. Jimin hated mangos but being pregnant seemed to change his sense of taste for the worse. As much as the thought of a mango used to make him gag, now it felt like a staple in all his meals. Jimin pulled his plump lips off the straw as he gave a small nod.

"It is everything I needed." Jimin said.

"You, okay? You seemed out of it." Jungkook asked, his eyes filled with worry.

"I'm fine. Just got lost in my own head for a bit." Jimin said, lifting his gaze to meet Jungkook's as he smiled.

"Ah, want to talk about it?" Jungkook asked.

"I suppose we will have to at some point." Jimin said and Jungkook seemed to tense at that, but Jimin gave a dismissive wave with his hand, "It isn't anything too serious. I was just thinking about the color scheme for the nursery."

A lie. But Jungkook didn't need to know that. Jimin was pleased to see the other relax a little.

"Right, right. We are having a boy, so maybe the standard blue?" Jungkook said as he sat back, pulling out his phone and unlocking it as he started to pull a few things up.

"Ah, blue is so generic and boring. I want to do something different." Jimin huffed, leaning forward as he rested his chin in his palm with a pouty expression on his face.

Jungkook smirked a little, flicking his gaze up to the Omega before he looked back down at his phone.

"What about – "

"Yellow." Jimin cut in and Jungkook's eyes widened as he met Jimin's gaze and the two stared at each other for a moment before they burst into a giggle fit.

"How did you know I was going to say that!?" Jungkook asked.

Jimin smirked triumphantly.

"Well, we are connected on a whole other level now, right?" Jimin said smugly as Jungkook tilted his head, giving the most radiant smile that Jimin had ever seen from the male.
