In the Shadow of Doubt. [ Reaper x Reader ]

3 Days Later.

She paced in her cell, worrying about what Akande had said. How much was going to get out? She didn't want to loose her new family so soon. The thumps of footsteps interrupted her thoughts. "She's in here." A voice said before opening the door. Akande walked in, a smirk on his face. "I see you have made yourself comfortable.." He says as he closes the cell door behind him. She glares silently at the rather large man. She knew she was in a bad situation, so there was no point in making it worse. "No talking again hmm? Fine. You are in a holding cell at a very familiar location to you.. I'm surprised you didn't notice sooner." Akande said with a chuckle before approaching [Y/N]. She shrunk slightly in fear upon him getting closer. Her eyes went wide upon realizing where she was. "..The training center.." She said softly, making Akande smile. "Very good. Cassidy will be alot luckier than you.. after we extract what we need.. we'll put him down. You on the other hand... will go through rigorous training and other things to be our perfect weapon once again." She started panicking. She couldn't go back to that life. What would Reyes think... were they even coming? Akande turned towards the door once he was satisfied with her reaction. "I will see you in the morning.. Specter." He leaves and as soon as he's gone, she falls back into the corner of her cell, shaking upon hearing her code name once again.

Cassidy's POV

He didn't know what was going on but he damn sure was more concerned about [Y/N] and what Akande had said. Just what the hell had the poor gal gotten into? He pauses upon hearing creaking from above his cell. After he heard a few taps he knew what it was. Morse code. He immediately taps back, letting them know it was him. Within seconds, a sword cuts a circle in the ceiling and Genji silently leaps down. "Boy am I glad to see you." Cassidy says, causing a glare from Genji. Genji motions for Cassidy to follow and they both go into the ceiling through the hole. "I saw them drag her past my cell when we arrived. Remind me to thank the Commander for the trackers in our weapons.. it's saved my life too many damn times to count." Cassidy whispered before Genji shushed him. They crawled along side the vent until they heard familiar sobbing from below.

[Y/N]'s POV

She hugged her legs, sobbing as she worried about Cassidy. How had this gone so wrong.. She freezes upon hearing tapping above her before a sword sliced a hole in the ceiling. She smiled upon seeing Genji and Cassidy look down at her. She reaches up and they pull her into the ceiling. They start following Genji, making sure to stay quiet. Once Genji gave the signal, she asked the question that was nagging her.

"Where's Reyes?"

Reyes POV

He growled as him and a few other agents caused the distraction. "Stay here and keep distracting them.. I'll grab Cassidy and [Y/N]'s weapons." He commanded before stealthily heading towards the left hallway. It had been a few days of planning... yelling... and drinking but once he heard where they were, he was on the first plane out. Jack wasn't happy they were captured but frankly Jack could kiss his ass. He pauses as a few guards go into a doorway around the corner. He watches and waits for them to leave before going into said room. The storage room. He looks at his map real quick before pinpointing exactly where the guns were. He races over and grabs the rifle and Peacekeeper. "All clear. Heading to ship now." He heard through his earpiece. "Got the weapons. Let's get the hell out of here." He quickly races out the way he came, shooting at anything that got in his way.

[Y/N]'s POV

She sat in the ship, cradling the blanket Cassidy had put on her shoulders. She would have a lot of explaining to do once they got back to base.. She just hoped she could rest beforehand. She quickly looks up upon hearing the doors shut. Reyes walks over to her, handing her rifle over. "You're sticking by my side from now on. Got it?" He says firmly, making her nod. He walks over to Cassidy and smacks the back of his head before handing over the Peacekeeper. "Ow! Got it, don't split up next time Akande shows up.." Cassidy grumbles, making her smile upon hearing them back together. Reyes sits between her and Cassidy with a sigh. "You and me have some business to talk about once we get back.. but for now, rest." Reyes said quietly to her. She responds with a nod before resting her head on his shoulder. Her eyes started to close and she quickly drifted off.
