Chapter - 7 Adonis and Twins

Adonis : " Seeing mother happy, I wonder if I am able to stroll in the castle or in the garden? I do not want to disturb mother while she is happily having conversation with the long time friend. so, is it ok for me to stroll around the back garden and in the mansion? I promise to avoid the glass greenhouse in order for you to talk freely.

Duchess : " Oh my! you don't have to be too mindful of it. We are just having a normal conversation and if you want, you can also join us. I would be happy to show my cute daughter to my friend."

Adonis : " If mother says so, I will greet your friend and then will leave for the stroll. Is it alright?"

Duchess : " My daughter is so thoughtful. Of course it is alright. And it is okay even if you don't greet my friend. "

Adonis : " No mommy, it will look bad upon the family and I can't do that. I will greet her briefly and be on my way to explore. "

Duchess : " Alright. There is no stopping you. I am lucky to have you as my daughter and in this family who thinks a lot about the dukedom. "

Duchess left after the conversation to prepare for the tea party for her and her friend. Adonis was quietly roaming the house. When she overheard 2 maids having a conversation about the back  garden which is also a border to another kingdom but no one is able to go there due to the fog. 

According to them, the dukedom is responsible to maintain anyone from the trespassing and protect everyone from entering the foggy place. 

After listening, Adonis continued her stroll in the palace and later decided to visit this so called foggy place after greeting her mother's friend. 

Adonis visited the glass greenhouse where the tea party was held by her mother.

Adonis : " Lifted her skirt with her right hand, bending her knee slightly and bowed slightly saying, " I apologize to disturb your precious teatime with my mother but Greetings to the distinguished guest of my mother and welcome to our humble abode. I am Adonis Harper Wilfred. "

Marchioness : " No need to apologize princess. Greetings to the youngest princess of the dukedom. Thank you for your warm welcome greetings. I am Marchioness Leona Andrew Lancaster. Nice to meet you. " 

Adonis : " Nice to meet you too Marchioness, it is your humble nature to think so highly of me. Thank you for the greetings. I will be on my way to not bother in your conversation with my mother any further. Thank you for having me for a short duration of time. I hope you have a lovely time together with my mother. Have a good day. "

Marchioness : " It's lovely to meet you princess. You can stay if you want as you are not imposing and you are very adorable to be imposing on us. But, if not then I would not force you to stay. I love daughters and all I got were the twins who would be the death of me one day. " 

Duchess : " Don't be like that Leona, the twins are lovely and they are as lovely as my kids. "

Marchioness : " Emma, you are saying that because you do not have to deal with my twin kids. They are quite notorious and your kids are lovely plus they are very well behaved unlike my kids."

Adonis took this opportunity to leave both the ladies to their conversation and the glass greenhouse to be on her way to her adventure towards the foggy garden.

Adonis went towards the foggy garden mentioned by the maids in their conversation and true to their words, there was indeed the foggy place at the end of the back garden.

Adonis went all the way towards the back garden but before she could approach the foggy garden, she saw Winston and 2 identical looking kids. Adonis went towards the group and grabbed Winston sleeves, tugged the bottom of his sleeve making Winston look in her direction.

Winston smiled lovingly and said, " Hello Adonis, are you looking for me to go to the library together? "

Adonis : " No, I am here in the garden to play and not disturb mommy with her friend but Winy, who are these 2 people with you? "

Winston : " These 2 are my friend and are mommy's friend's kids. His name is Asher and this here is Cassius. You met mommy's friend right? They both are her kids.

Adonis : " Hello Asher and Cassius, My name is Adonis. Nice to meet you. "

Asher : " So you are Winston's sister, Nice to meet you too. My name is Asher. Let's be friends and extended his hands. "

Adonis : " Looks confusingly at the extended hands and hesitatingly, she grabbed Asher's hand giving a handshake. " " Thank you. Let's be friend and take care of me. "

Adonis looked at Cassius and said, " You must be Cassius. Let's get along well. " She extended her hand in a same manner as his brother Asher for Cassius to shake. "

Cassius : " Likewise. " Grabbed her extended hand and shake it briefly before releasing it. 

Cassius had a very faint smile on his face which was gone just as soon as it came but Adonis noticed the smile on Cassius face before it disappeared. 

Since the twins were identical, it was hard to differentiate them but Adonis remembered Asher as a friendly easy go person while Cassius as the not so friendly person.

Later, all the kids decided to play hide and seek where everyone went to hide and Winston started counting numbers till 20 giving others time to hide. 

Everyone started hiding one by one, when Adonis was going all the way at the end of the back garden nearing the foggy place, she noticed a beautiful phoenix bird sitting in one of the nearby tree branch which was a very mesmerizing view for her. 

It was as if she was entranced by this view that unknowingly, she started walking towards the bird and forgot all about the game they were playing. She didn't even realize that she was heading into the foggy kingdom which was very dangerous for everybody.
