Chapter 4: Untold Truths

Start from the beginning

Collei: "o–Oh! Don't mention it! Master told me this was my special task to oversee, so that I didn't have to spend all my time stuck at home, so I'm happy to help! You'll tell him that I was a big help though, right? If he knew that I was a big help on this mission, then hopefully he'll let me go back out on patrols and things again!"

Y/N: "Of course I will Collei, I'm very confident in that you'll be a great boon on this trip after all!"

Collei: "Hehe! I'll do my best! Now come on! Let's head into the city already! Come on!"

Y/N: "Alright then, lead the way Collei: my personal tour guide and very skilled escort!"

Collei: "Hehe! Let's go!"

Collei and I then made our way inside the overgrown city, and quite the sight it was! Whilst the presence of the large tree that towered above the buildings was definitely a major aesthetic of the city design, all the pathways were properly paved and all the structures looked more than up to the standard I would have expected of a nation's main city.

Unlike most of the other cities that I had visited however, this one certainly made much more use of nature as a decoration amongst the structures than others did — a perfect blend between greenery and civilisation, it really was a spectacular sight! I just wish that she was here with me...

We didn't spend too long out in the open though, as it turns out that the Grand Bazaar that Collei had informed me about was actually underground, deep in the trunk of the large tree. So Collei led me over to a tunnel with some very fancy doors that led away from the main city streets and downwards into what seemed to be, at first glance, just another marketplace.

Collei: "

Collei: "...th–there are a lot of people in here..."

Y/N: "Not so good in crowded places then, hm?"

Collei: "Not really, no..."

Y/N: "Hmm... Well, most the people are around the stalls, so we should be better to walk in the middle of the path, right? Would that help at all?"

Collei: "Oh! You don't have to worry about me so much! I'll be fine, I'm supposed to be your guide after all!"

Y/N: "Well... if you're sure? But I'm not sure who we should talk to about this just yet... So, how about this: let's just find a quiet corner to just watch and observe for a while and see if we can figure anything out?"

Collei: "Oh yeah! That sounds like a good idea! I can help with that! Come on! Let's go find a good spot to wait!"

Collei then regained that smile that looked so at home on her face, and she then skipped off into the center of this underground marketplace, with me trailing behind her as I left her to decide where we would set up shop to espy someone who might be of use to us.
