The five of them soon ended up at, once again, the gym. The setup was the same as before. Everyone was there... Still in their uniforms. The gym looked as if nothing happened and soon enough, they all arrived again.

"Welcome students to this illustrious academy! I am your Headmaster, Monokuma! And these are my sweet, sweet children." He stated.

"Were the monokubz!" And they each introduced each other one by one.

"Alright! Enough with your boring introductions. Why are we here?" Kokichi said trying to get to the point.

"Yeah! Why in the world are we here!?" Miu added.

"Nyeh... Can I just go back to sleep? I don't want these nightmares anymore..." Himiko chimed in tiredly and noticeably very anxiously.

"Oh yeah! You are all participants of a little game I have put all my time and effort into." Monokuma replied.

"What if we don't want to participate?" Kirumi asked.

"Don't say that just yet darlin'! You don't even know what the game is. Anyway... You don't have a choice."

"A game? In a school...? You fucking joking me right now bitch boy!?" Miu yelled.

Everyone remained quiet. A mixture of anxiousness and expectancy filled the surrounding atmosphere.

"Well to put it into simple terms... You're in a Killing game! Isn't that exciting?" Monokuma cheered.

He continued to explain the rules exactly the same as he had done previously. After each sentence, people seemed to spread out more and more. People were quickly losing comfortability around each other. Well, most. Kaede and Kaito were the obvious exception to this. People tried their best to retaliate. But as few knew, the attempts were futile.

"Gonta no will allow this! Gonta will gladly fight to prove so!" Gonta yelled.

Monokuma simply laughed.

"Alright big guy! I would gladly accept the challenge buttttt it's too soon for that! It would be so boring and anticlimactic!" Monokuma complained.

"Atua believes this is total BS."

"Kehehe such a beautiful idea~" That defiantly got a few disgusted glares headed Korekiyos way.

"Stay away from us woman you freak!"

Some people started heading out. Some in search of cover and some to get distance from others. Some even had already seemed to find friend groups already. Soon everyone followed. There was nothing more to be gained from staying in the gym. Some just didn't want to have to face the facts that this was real. And not for the first time.

----------

"DO you have anything to enforce these rules or are you just hoping we are going to follow you blindly?"

"Well, a bit of motivation will obviously be needed but might as well make them feel comfortable first. Can't have senseless killing now, can we?"

"I see your point. I guess I'll get the rest out of you another day."

"Puhuhu. Looking forward to our next meeting. Sayonara now!"

----------------

"Woah... Thats a lot of food!" Kaede stated.

"I say it will last approximately 4 weeks supplying for all 16 of us... How could he get so much?" Kirumi said questionably, appearing behind Kaede.

"Ah! Oh- Sorry you surprised me!"Keade yelped.

"My apologies, that wasn't my intention."

"No, it's fine! Really!" Kaede insisted.

"Kirumi Tojo. Ultimate maid. I am sorry for not formally introducing myself sooner." Kirumi introduced whilst bowing.

"Ah- No need to bow! I am Kaede Akamatsu, Ultimate Pianist! And this is Shuichi Saihara. The ultimate Detective!" Kaede said, a little shocked by the bow and start waving her hands to say it was ok. Shuichi stayed quiet. After seeing what happened in the second trial, he didn't know what to think of Kirumi. She had kind intentions, yet she wanted to sacrifice all of them in turn.

Kirumi promised to prepare a meal for all of them, so they decided to take a seat and wait. It was just when they sat down, they realised how dark it was. It must be past dinner by now. Soon, people started to trickle in, and it just started getting louder and louder. It was like actually being at school.

And just like in school, there is always those noticeable voices. That defiantly hadn't seemed to change from the first time. Kokichi and Miu. Both going at their usual vulgar insults. And then there is Gonta trying to separate them. Kaede got up from the table to go help diffuse the situation and Maki soon took her place once her back was turned.

"Huh- Maki?" Shuichi said in surprise.

"So, you do remember." She responded simply.

"Wha-" Shuichi said once again in surprise.

"I haven't told anyone my name yet stupid, and you seem to know." Maki explained making Shuichi realise how dumb he is.

"Well, if both you and Keebo remember do you think Himiko remembers?" Shuichi asked.

"Keebo knows? Well, if only the survivors maintain their memories than there is a high possibility." Maki said. "I will be going now. Talk to you later." She then stood up and left.

Shuichi wondered why she was in such a hurry then turned to the side to notice Kaede finishing up a conversation with Gonta. He quickly turned around, so he was sitting properly and Kaede came to join him. Kirumi soon came with the food. It truly hadn't been long in perspective since he had Kirumi's food, but it felt like true nostalgia. Was this what he really wanted?

Is this really what it costs to see the ones you love again?
