Reincarnated as Dream with Differences

Dream woke up with a startle, Night was already up and readied with his weapon, a moon staff.

Dream stood up and also took out his signature weapon, a bow that had bright yellow arrows filled with positivity and pointed at the forest, where there were large amounts of presence.

This moment made me feel complete Deja Vu, as if this had happened beforehand and won't be the last time either.

DREAM's POV

"State your business here, as you mortals are not allowed near this tree. We do not look to harm you, but if you approach this tree, we will not hesitate." Night warned, looking at me for approval, I nod.

A human tiger, they seemed to be the leader of the chief on the crowd of people stood front. "We are here to look for a place to stay, we traveled far and wide and we think that we need rest here." The chief informed.

Night tighten their weapon and ready to attack before they take a hit on him or me, I dismissed my weapon but hid behind my brother.

"Which one is the Negativity Guardian and the Positivity Guardian? I dunno too man." I heard a very loud whisper told another, they weren't very secretive as they thought they were.

"We do not have any evil intentions to harm anyone of you! But uhm.. we will if we have too!" I explained, they looked at me with kind eyes but I could feel that they were staring dead cold at my bro.

"I think the Guardian of Negativity must have brainwashed the Guardian of Positivity!" The same whisper told the other, they both were stupid but so were the rest of the villagers.

"You can stay at a field down this hill because there is a clearing down there and it isn't exactly safe to build houses here." I stated, the builders started their business and not giving any s(ofa).

"Thank you.." The chief paused, not knowing my name. "Dream! The name is Dream while my brother over here is Night." I introduced me and my brother, a little hint of concern laced in my tone.

Something felt very wrong to me, as if I did something that I was not suppose to do but everyone had felt a similar thing anyways. "Thank you, Dream." The chief followed by the rest of the travellers walked down the hill, it would be funny to see one of them trip.. It happened.

"I have a very bad feeling about this, Night.. Should I have told them our names? Should I just have ignored them?" I questioned without having any answers.

"Not sure but stand guard, they might pick the apples for their greedy needs. Just watch out." Night warned me.

Night's staff disintegrated to the moon ashes, vanishing into thick air as the wind blew away the dust from his clothes.

"Mother, watch out for them. They are coming after you, aren't they?" Night mumbled, but I heard him due to my hearing range.

I wanted to ask who Night was talking too or anything like that, I didn't want to invade his personal space.

"Dream, we should stay next to the tree. They might come back when we don't expect it." Night stated.

"Oh alright. ." I sat next to the tree, Night went beside me, holding my hand.

NARRATOR's POV

The two brothers watched the skies turn dark, Night turned to his young brother, finding he was fast asleep.

Night kissed his brother's head, singing him a lullaby that mother used to sing before they died.

Shortly after, Night fell asleep himself. The snores of the two filled the night with songs, an owl was watching from above the Tree of Feelings.

The owl cooed the night away, the moon was bright tonight but none could see it.

In a far away place, would be two gods watching everyone below. Sun and Moon, they seek.

The Moon closed its eyes once more, going below the view of the Tree of Feelings.

The Sun awakens in its deep slumber, rising up to shine again and give energy to those who need it. .
