JIMIN POV

"Me?" You want me to go with you to this party thing as your..."

"boyfriend?"

I thought this was a dumb idea on my way over but I had no one else I felt comfortable asking.

No one who could possibly pull something like this off.

No one who knows me as well as Jungkook.

Jungkook gets up and drains his beer on his way to the kitchen where he pours us each a shot of tequila. Thank God!

"It's just for appearances."

"I can pay you... for your... uh, acting services." I offer.

Jungkook scoffs, downing one shot and refilling the two-ounce vessel, then before knocking back the second shot.

"Taking your money would
make me feel like a gigolo."

"You'll do it?" I ask surprised, my heart leaping into my throat.

He hands me my shot and I down it, missing the salt and lime but I'm in no position to complain.

"It's what friends do, right?"

Jungkook answers after grimacing through his second shot. "When is it exactly?"

"Right Absolutely."

"And Saturday, The fifteenth."

"We'd need to leave my place around two to get there by four? We'd be back Sunday afternoon."

He thinks for a moment and then a silly little smile spreads across his face. "Done."

"Seriously? You don't know what this means to me."

I blurt, grateful as I'd ever
been for a friend like Jungkook.

"You're actually doing us both a favor." he answers cryptically.

We talk a little more, him asking me about my job, which I love telling him about.

He tells me about the nicotine patch commercial he'd just filmed.

He doesn't seem excited about it, but "work is work" he says.

I don't know what the fuck is wrong with casting directors.

Jungkook is everyone's dream boat.

Tall, built, handsome and the fucking nicest, most loyal guy
in the world.

JUNGKOOK POV

"You have to fucking be kidding me!" Lisa thunders, her hands planted firmly on her hips.

Lisa has never liked Jimin.

She doesn't understand.

She never will.

She grew up a brat, making new groups of friends every few years.

Many of those friendships were lucky to last longer than five years.

Jimin has been my best friend
for thirty-two years, now.

Her dislike of Jimin might have something to do with the fact that he's hooked up with a few of her friends and never called any of them after the night but Jimin has never made any promises.

In fact, I've heard him be point-blank honest on several occasions with chicks before fucking them that he doesn't do relationships.

"We have the cake appointment that afternoon For our wedding."

Her shrieking starts growing louder and more shrill. "This has been on the calendar for months"

"We can't cancel! This is already the third scheduling!"

"Do you know the hoops
I had to jump through
to get Ann to do this?"

"You're saying you'd rather
hang out with that playboy than spend a nice afternoon with me?"

"Rather than making decisions for our big day?"

Guilt trip?

She wants to play that game?

"For starters, it's only been one month and who knows? Ann might reschedule again, She's already canceled on us twice."

"Also, Jimin's paying me."

I'm not going to take his money though I'm just helping a friend out.

"Not to mention that this is an excellent networking opportunity." I continue.

"Lots of industry connected people will be at this shindig."

I have no idea if anyone remotely able to help my career will be there but it sounds good.

"Besides Jimin is my best friend."

"He's been there for me for every thing from victories to when my mother died when I was just eleven, He needs me."

I can only imagine if I told her that I was going as Jimin's boyfriend, something that has me more nervous than I'd like to admit.

Fortunately, She isn't impervious to guilt and she shuts down right away.

"Call your bridesmaids, You all can indulge."

"I'm sure the group of you will make a better choice than I would."

"You know I'll eat anything."

And with that, I'm off the hook
to spend the weekend with my best friend in the strangest
way possible.
