Trees flashed by the window as your parents drove you to your new school. You didn't expect much, no school would be able to handle you. You had no faith in schools and the schools had no faith in you.
Honestly, you let loose all the animals at the zoo on a field trip and suddenly you were shipped off to the next prison.

"Couldn't we have waited until next school year? It's the middle of the first semester" you tried to reason "I do not need to be a part of the new student cliché."

Your parents were used to your complaining and simply ignored your words until you got to the gates of Nevermore.
"This is where we leave you, honey, take care okay? Your headmaster will meet you near the gates" your mother said.
You rolled your eyes and climbed out of the car, grabbing one singular bag that held you're belongings and closing the car door.
"I'll see you in a week, mother, I expect I'll burn this school to the ground," you said.
Your mother simply laughed and waved you off, bidding goodbye one more time before driving off.

You sighed before turning your attention to your new school "Hogwarts was better" you muttered, walking through the school gates.
Barely making it through you were met with a very tall blonde lady smiling at you.
"Welcome to Nevermore!" She cheered "Call me Ms.Weems, I'm your headmaster"
She placed a hand on your back, guiding you to the entrance of the school "I'm sure you'll fit right in with the students of this school, you won't need to hide your powers" she continued.

You froze your neutral face turning into one of panic "powers? I don't know what you mean" you said, gripping your bag to the point your knuckles were turning white.
Weems just smiled "we got reports from your other schools, about how you've caused some mischief with animals," she said "no need to worry, everyone here has something a little special about them."
You gulped and nodded, before walking towards the school.

As far back as you could remember you could always communicate with animals. At every school, you went to the teachers would have pets and you could tell they were miserable. No one could do anything about it except you, so you always released the animals, always with an extra flare.
Then later, your new school decided to take a trip to the zoo. As everyone gawked and pointed at the animals you were hatching a plan to get all the animals out.
Apparently people didn't take well to acts of service for animals and you were banned from the zoo and transferred to another school.
Each time you acted up your parents wouldn't let you out of the house for weeks, making sure you were completely isolated.
You began hiding your powers, only using them when necessary or when no one else was around.

"Y/n" Ms.Weems called out to you, snapping you back from your past "I want you to meet Ajax Petropolus, he'll be taking you to your dorm and showing you around the school."
Only then did you notice another person had joined the two of you and you were inside Nevermore. An awkward smile appeared on the boy's face as he gave you a small wave "hi, I'm Ajax" he said, "what's your name?"
Weems too this time to leave, giving you a reassuring smile before turning and walking down the hallway.
"Y/n," you said, "but I hardly think pleasantries are necessary, I won't be here for long."
This caused Ajax to chuckle "you're not the first person to say that, but she ended up saving this school last year, so maybe don't give up too quickly."
You rolled your eyes in response "doubtful, but we'll see" you replied, "now aren't you supposed to be giving me a tour?"

"Oh right! Follow me, we'll go to your dorm first" Ajax said leading the way toward what you could only hope was the direction of your new dorm.
"Right so there's a couple of different groups in this school, four main ones at least," he said as the two of you walked "fangs, scales, stoners, and furs."
At the word stoners, he places a hand on his beanie-covered hair "I'm a stoner, pretty easy to identify, all of us wear beanies so we don't accidentally stone anyone" he explained, "what's your power?"
