"Wait, Quint, how are we supposed to get all this stuff back to the treehouse?" Y/N asked as they helped carry several boxes throughout Quint's house.

"Yeah, it is a long walk." Jack added.

"Oh, we won't be walking." Quint answered with a grin. He opened the garage door to reveal a large, geared up, truck.

Jack and Y/N marveled as Quint began explaining all the amazing features he had built into it. Quint had named it "Big Mama", based on the license plate.

"Dude! Is that a human skull?!" Jack interrupted.

"It's only a candle." Quint replied.

"Oh. Not sure if I'm disappointed or relieved." Jack chuckled. Y/N shook their head at him.

"What's it smell like?" Y/N asked, walking a bit closer.

"Cookie dough!" Quint smiled. All three smelt the candle deeply and smiled.

"Love it!" Jack grinned.

The three packed all of Quint's things into the back and got in the car. Jack in the driver seat, Quint in passenger, and Y/N in the back.

Everyone buckled their seatbelts and Jack started the car.

"Oh blast. I didn't hook up the electricity to the garage doors." Quint face palmed.

"Doors? Where we're going, we don't need doors." Jack smiled, pulling his sunglasses over his eyes that he had snagged from Quint's living room.

"Jack what are you doing?!" Y/N asked as Jack slammed on the gas. Y/N held on tightly to the shoulders of the seats in front of them as Jack broke through Quint's garage door. Luckily the truck was undamaged.

"My parents will be home eventually, and I will be blaming your for the doors!" Quint scolded.

"Fair enough." Jack shrugged. Y/N shook their head and remained quiet, already over the idea of Jack driving.

As they drove, Jack hit several things; mailboxes, trash cans, other cars.

Jack shouted about how good he was at driving as Quint and Y/N screamed, holding onto the truck for dear life as Jack continued his rampage of horrible driving.

Finally, the road was pretty empty so Jack didn't have to swerve much, making the ride a bit smoother. Quint and Y/N had stopped screaming by this point.

"So, remember June Del Toro?" Jack asked. Y/N groaned and Quint hummed in response, both knowing his obsession with the girl.

"The June Del Toro you've been crushing on since school started?" Quint began rhetorically.

"The June Del Toro you can't stop talking about?" Y/N added, leaning forward.

"No." Y/N and Quint said in union.

"Well, first thing tomorrow, we're going out looking for her. That's nonnegotiable." Jack said, ignoring his friends' sarcasm.

"Oh, that June Del Toro." Quint rolled his eyes.

They finally arrived at the tree house and parked the truck, climbing into the tree house to unpack Quint's things. The rest of the day was spent hanging out, playing games and eating snacks, as the three enjoyed their reunion.

Finally the night came and Jack, not wanting the fun to end just yet, asked if Quint and Y/N would want to sleep downstairs with him. They happily obliged and Y/N helped Quint set up a hammock in the living room area. Jack got comfortable on a yoga mat, Quint hopped into his hammock, and Y/N cozied up on the couch.

The trio talked for a while, staring at the roof and just enjoying themselves. After a minute of silence, Jack turned to look at his friends.

"Guys, you awake?" He asked.

"Yup." Quint replied. Y/N muttered, too tired to answer completely but still somewhat awake.

"The world, like, ended..." Jack's voice was a bit sad as he spoke, the realization finally sort of kicking in.

"I know." Quint said, his voice the same. There was no reply from Y/N. They had completely fallen asleep to the sound of their friends' voices.

"I'm glad we're all in it together, ya know?" Jack smiled, not knowing Y/N had fallen asleep.

"I know." Quint repeated, turning to look down at Jack. Trying to lighten the mood, Quint farted, making Jack turn over in disgust. Quint began to laugh as Jack complained and laughed as well, Y/N didn't wake up from the light commotion.

"Good night." Quint said happily.

"Good night." Jack replied with a sigh.

~~~
Y/N yawned. They were the first of their friends to wake up. The teenager sat up, tossing the blanket to the side and getting up. They made a bowl of cereal and decided to read one of the comics Quint had brought while they waited for the others to get up. Jack had left the good cereal out last night after having a bowl, so Y/N would actually have some in piece for once without having to wake him up.
"Y/N?" Quietly asked a voice from behind, startling Y/N a bit. They turned around to see Quint, eyes still half shut as he shambled into the kitchen area, still in the clothes he had been wearing the day before, which he had gone to sleep in.
"Well good morning, do you want something? I can make you a bowl of cereal if you want." Y/N offered, holding up their bowl to emphasize their point. Quint shook his head.
"No thank you, my tummy gets upset if I eat right after waking up, I'll have something in a little bit." He replied. Y/N nodded and continued to make their bowl. Unfortunately the electricity had gone out weeks ago and the treehouse relied on a small generator below for what little fun they could have on limited fuel, so a refrigerator was out of the question, as well as any perishables within, and so, dry cereal it was.
Quint decided to pass the time by unpacking his things.
"Hey, Y/N? Is there somewhere I could have a room of my own?" Quint asked sheepishly.
"Of course, there are a few rooms but I have the biggest room. You can have it, so you have enough space for your projects and stuff if you want." Y/N answered with a smile.
"I wouldn't want to make you move out of your room for me." Quint waved his hand dismissively.
"No, it's really not an issue, come on, I'll help you move your stuff, I barely have anything so moving my stuff out shouldn't be too much of a hassle." Y/N insisted, setting down their bowl and picking up one of the boxes beside Quint. Quint, not wanting to argue with Y/N, knowing they wouldn't let it go, picked up another box and followed them to the ladder nailed into the tree. Y/N set the box down and climbed up the ladder.
"Okay, pass me the boxes one by one, once they're all up here we can get them to the room." Y/N directed. Quint quickly passed the boxes up and ran to retrieve the rest.
Once all the boxes were safely in the room and Y/N had finished moving their things to the room across the floor, into a medium sized room with a twin XL bed, a small desk, and a tall dresser, the two returned back downstairs to see Jack up and eating the bowl of cereal Y/N had left in the table.
"Hey!" Y/N loudly laughed. Jack grinned and shrugged his shoulders.
"You left it unattended, and it is the good cereal, you can't get mad." Jack stood up to avoid a book tossed towards him.
"Yeah yeah, come on, I know you're just dying to go save June, lets go." Y/N rolled their eyes. Jack immediately dropped the bowl and darted for the door. Y/N chuckled and grabbed their bowl, the cereal now theirs again. Quint laughed and followed Y/N as the two joined Jack outside.
Finally, the three set off to hopefully find another survivor.
