"Ugh!" Tate groans as she collapsed onto the bed and Steve chuckles at her. "We're not getting anywhere. We have as much information as we can and we're no closer to finding out who's a double agent" she complains, the feeling of hopelessness taking over. "We must be missing something" Steve suggests, his optimism becoming prominent in his hopeful tone. Steve's words make Tate remember something from her childhood. Advice that was given to her, by her brother.
"I can't figure it out!" 15 year old Tate groans in frustration, giving up on her math homework. "What's wrong?" 30 year old Tony asks as he walks over to the table and takes a seat beside her. "I don't know how to answer the question and I've read it a thousand times" she exaggerates as Tony reads the question. "Don't worry, I'll help" he assures her with a chuckle at her melodrama. She really is his sister. "What do you already know? What does the question tell you?" he asks her and she scans the paper before highlighting the numbers in the question.
"Good. Now how can you use those numbers?" he questions and she starts scanning her formulas sheet. "Do I put them into this formula?" she asks hopefully and Tony nods with a smile. She puts the numbers into the formula and types it into her calculator, getting the answer to her question. "See, all you have to do is look at what you've got. You can use whatever information you have to figure it out" he explains and she nods in understanding. "Thank you Tony" she says and leans in to give him a small hug. "Your welcome kiddo" Tony responds and hugs her back before leaving her to finish her homework.
Tate has a moment of realisation and a great idea as Tony's words repeat through her mind. You can use whatever information you have to figure it out. She sits up straight and Steve looks at her confused. "What?" he questions. "I've got an idea. When I was growing up, Tony told me that I can always use the information that I have. He taught me to take a step back and look at the bigger picture. So, that's what we're gonna do" she explains as she stands and gets a big sheet of paper. "We're gonna write everything we have on this sheet, like a map. Then we'll look at the whole thing and see if it sparks any ideas. Hopefully... it will" she adds as she lays the sheet on the desk. "Ok, let's try it" Steve agrees before he starts reading out a bunch of the information they've got.
Soon after, they have a mind map on their sheet of paper with the names of their suspects and all the agency's attacks. "Any ideas coming to mind?" Steve asks after they've stared at the mind map for a few minutes. "Nope" she sighs in defeat. "Wait" she quickly adds and Steve looks at her. "The event that the agency attacked 2 months ago, it was a private and exclusive event so only those with invites would know about it" she states, looking over at Steve, a plan already forming in her mind. Whoever told the agency about the event, would've had an invite. "So, if they aren't on the guest list, they aren't the double agent" Steve concludes happily and Tate nods along with a smile. "I can find the guest list so we can eliminate some of the team" she says before starting to type on her laptop.
Tate finds the guest list and starts searching for everyone from the team on it. When she finds someone from the team on the guest list, she tells Steve and he takes note. After searching the guest list, they managed to eliminate Tony, Nat, Bruce and Sam, leaving Clint, Pepper and Sharon with invites to the event. "The question is, how do we find out which of these 3 is the double agent?" Steve asks. "I don't know" she answers. "Do we tell the others now that we know it isn't them?" he wonders. "I don't think so. We can't risk any of the 3 finding out. If we tell Tony, he won't believe it's Pepper and he'll tell her. The same for Nat and Clint. I think we should wait until we know who the double agent is" she answers and nods in agreement. "That's a good point" he agrees.
The pair spend a few more minutes trying to think of a way to find out who the double agent is. "Ok, it's risky but hear me out" Tate states, breaking the silence when an idea comes to mind. "Go ahead" Steve nods, since he has no ideas. "What if we tell one of them about a mission we're going on, to investigate the agency. We make sure they're the only one who knows and then if the agency intercepts the mission, then we know that they're the double agent. We'd have to make sure that we tell them just before the mission so that there isn't time for anyone else to find out but enough time for them to inform the agency" she explains as Steve slowly nods. "You're right, it's risky" he states and Tate sighs, thinking he's gonna disagree with that plan. "But it's our only shot" he adds and she looks up at him surprised. "We'll plan every detail to make sure that no one gets hurt. Who should we start with?" he asks before they start planning as many details as they possibly can.
