Together - Steve Rogers

Steve parks the car and gets out to help Tate but she's already opened her door and is stepping out. Once she stands straight she starts to get lightheaded and leans against the car. "Tate, you ok?" Steve asks as he steps toward her to help. "Yeah" she breathes with a small nod. She reaches for him so he offers his arm for her to hold which she gladly takes. "I just got a little lightheaded" she states before starting to walk. However, she realises that she's only wearing one of her heels so she stops and leans on Steve as she removes her remaining heel. "No point in me keeping this one anymore" she chuckles and Steve smiles at her before she throws it in a bin.

Steve helps her through the compound and into the conference room as her lightheaded feeling doesn't subside. He calls everyone into the conference. They all enter and take one look at Tate and question what happened. Sharon enters and Tate and Steve notice how her face changes when she sees Tate alive. However, she covers it up quickly and acts concerned but she's given short replies and Steve stands beside Tate, ready to protect her if Sharon pounces.

Bruce, the final person enters the room while everyone waits impatiently. Especially Tony who's sitting beside Tate making sure she's ok. "Banner, you need to check on Tate" Steve states as he gestures to Tate who's leaning her elbows on her knees trying to stop the lightheaded feeling. "Sure, what happened?" he asks and everyone looks at Steve, waiting for an answer, knowing that Tate is in no state to.

"Ever since Tate started staying here, we've been looking into the possibility of a double agent" he answers, deciding to start from the very beginning. "I know it was dismissed very quickly but we investigated it anyway" he adds and everyone looks at him stunned. "Are you serious?" Clint asks in disbelief. "You thought that one of us was working with the agency? How could you think that about your own teammates?" Nat asks in frustration. "It was my idea" Tate intervenes now that she can think clearly, wanting to help Steve. "You shouldn't have done it without telling us" Tony argues as he looks at Tate. "What good would that have done Tony? If we told you all and one of you was the double agent, you could've told the agency or made sure we never found out" she replies simply.

"I know that you don't know us very well but Steve, we're your team and you questioned us and our loyalties" Sam states, hurt that Steve would think any of them are traitors. "I never questioned your loyalties. I questioned your safety. Tate and I nearly died at her apartment and Tate nearly died today, trying to find out who the double agent is. I knew that it was a possibility and I knew that it was compromising everyone's safety, so I made a judgement call and I don't regret it because we found out who it is" Steve explains sternly and everyone goes silent. He found out who it is? So someone is working with the agency? Someone is a double agent? Sharon quickly becomes nervous but manages to convince herself that they don't know it's her.

Tate stands from her chair, feeling much better but still looking like she's been through hell. She stands beside Steve as everyone share confused and concerned glances, wondering if the person standing beside them is the double agent. "Well, who is it?" Pepper asks expectantly. Steve and Tate look at Sharon and everyone follows their gaze until everyone is staring at Sharon. "Me?" she questions and Steve nods at her. "That's ridiculous. I'm not working with the agency" she argues but Tate is having none of it. "You were the only one who knew I would be in that restaurant looking for the agency and then the place blows up, with me inside!" she explains angrily and Sharon keeps a straight face. "That doesn't prove anything" she chuckles, looking to the rest of the team for support.

"If you aren't the double agent then there shouldn't be any suspicious calls on your phone from earlier today. Why don't we check?" Tate questions knowingly, there's no doubt in her mind about this. Sharon laughs, glancing at her team for help but everyone waits to see if she'll give up her phone. Sharon soon realises that no one will believe her and there's no way out of this. She's been caught and she needs to get out of there now. She takes a smoke bomb from her back pocket and throws it at the ground. The room fills with smoke and everyone starts coughing. However, Tate catches a glimpse of Sharon running out of the room so she chases after her. "Tate!" Steve yells after her and follows.

Tate chases Sharon through the hallways avoiding all the obstacles that Sharon tries using to slow her down. Steve is close behind and gaining on them due to his super speed. When Tate rounds a corner and sees where Sharon is heading, she realises that she's heading for the garage so she takes a shortcut through the stairwell, having assessed the building when she moved in. Steve rounds the corner and sees Sharon but no Tate so he follows Sharon.

Sharon enters the garage thinking she's made it since she didn't see Tate behind her anymore, only Steve who was getting caught in the crowds of staff. She continues running to her car and Steve enters the garage and spots her again before sprinting towards her. Sharon doesn't get far before Tate tackles her to the ground and Steve slows down. Tate is quick to straddle Sharon waist and pins her wrists to the floor. Sharon tries getting out of her grip but it's no use, she has well and truly been caught now. "What's the matter? Mad that you got caught?" Tate questions with a grin. "No, just mad that bomb didn't kill you" Sharon retorts.

Steve pulls Sharon to her feet and tightly holds her arms behind her back. He leads her back inside with Tate walking beside him. The rest of the team meet them in a hallway and they all take Sharon to a cell before gathering to decide what to do next.
