In the fictional world of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's resided two cities: Satellite and Neo Domino City or City for short. Satellite was an island city, located off the coast of the City, and they are connected by a simple pipeline used for transferring garbage between the two cities. The environment between the two highly contrast from each other, despite being connected.

On one hand, Satellite suffered from immense urban decay and pollution. Anyone who would come over to the island would mostly see abandoned buildings that were either destroyed in various levels or simply empty. Heck, people would look down at the ground to see a lot of junk and recycled garbage lying around. They also would be uneasy by its deserted-like atmosphere. That's because Satellite was used as a literal dumpster island for the City, and its population is largely in charge of taking care of the garbage being dumped from the City. The people in Satellite were not only met with indifference and disgust, but they were also called either "garbage" or "trash".

On the other hand, Neo Domino City was of an idealistic utopia. There were many departments in various industries which meant many job opportunities for jobseekers everywhere. There were also luxurious places that people would go to on their vacations. Those who name a fancy place they'd like to go to, the City had it. There was also high access to various technology, especially tech made for dueling. After all, the City gives to those who were deemed deserving. The population of the City would enjoy their luxurious life whilst they were given the chance to feed off the labor of Satellite residents.

However, it was not like that from the start. Satellite was not always the dumpster that anyone had thought. The island city was actually once part of Neo Domino. To prove that, there was a bridge on the edge of Satellite. It was known was the Daedalus Bridge. It was meant to fully connect the island city to Neo Domino; however, the bridge wasn't finished for some reason. The construction was halted for quite some time, and no one spoke out loud about that issue. Aside from the bridge, there was another piece of evidence that Satellite was connected to Neo Domino: the island city itself.

Why though? Why would Satellite itself be proof toward its connection with Neo Domino City?

For those who were unaware, there was a very horrible incident. That incident was catastrophic; so much so, the disaster caused Satellite to be separated from Neo Domino. There were also casualties who were in the site of the disastrous event.
