In the hallways of the Detention Center, Yusei was being escorted by two detention guards to a different area. The young man only knew was the detention guards' chief wanted to see him. He didn't know why the said figure wanted to see him, but he figured that it would add more to the list of misfortunes within his situation. 

Yusei couldn't say or do anything throughout the walk. Talking to the guards wasn't a good option; they're just as rotten as a certain so-called authority figure during Yusei's escape from Satellite. Trying to retaliate the guards wasn't a great option either; he would be treated more poorly, and his sentence would certainly be extended further.

He thought, '...I understand why anyone wouldn't want to come here. Even Rally wouldn't survive here. If he were to be treated like this...'

He went on, '...This place. It's suffocating. And I thought the prisoners were worse than the guards. It's the other way around. Yet still, everyone treats each other horribly.'

'Well, not everyone,' an image of Jin, Yanagi, and (Reader) entered his mind, '...They're not bad people.'

"Number 88, stand up straight!" Yusei heard the guard on his right bark at the prisoner. The former fixed his posture and continued to walk in sync with the two guards, "And don't think I didn't notice that smile on your face! You won't be smiling when we meet the chief."
