The man grunted as he hit the floor, hearing a wooden sword dig into the floor.

"Pathetic. You're obviously a slacker!"

"If you want to stay a student of our dojo, you'd better shape up." He ordered. Kegekatsu then heard someone yawn as he entered the dojo.

In the dojo of Seigen Toda, a swordsman renowned throughout Japan, the boy was seen as little more than a burden.

"Sasaki...!" Kagekatsu fumed. The teen Kojiro stopped, but had waved. "Hello. Master Kagekatsu... Good morning to you..." The teen greeted. "Late again, are you? You must be pretty brave, you little shit!" Kagekatsu spoke, walking towards Kojiro. The teen chuckled as he bashfully placed a hand over his head and hip. "Aw, I'm hardly worthy of such praise!" He spoke with a flower-like aura. "That wasn't a compliment!!" Kagekatsu yelled. He then grabbed a wooden sword. "I'll teach you to focus, even if I have to beat it into you." The male tossed the sword to Kojiro, letting the teen catch it with a blink. He then saw Kagekatsu come at him with his blade raised.

Kojiro immediately focused, blocking Kagekatsu's attack.

He gave a sharp grin.

"Did he just...?"
"Did he block Master Kagekatsu?"

Said man had pulled away from the clash, smashing his wooden sword against Kojiro's.

And yet, the teen continued to block.

But with one upwards slash, the wooden sword was forced out of Kojiro's grip.

He quickly backed into the wall, seeing Kagekatsu coming at him again.

Kojiro quickly put his hands out in front of himself.
"I surrender!" He spoke. Kagekatsu stopped, hearing the teen's wooden sword collapse to the floor. "D... Did you just say surrender...?!" Kagekatsu muttered. "Indeed I did! Victory is yours, Master Kagekatsu." Kojiro then got grabbed by the scarf of his outfit. "You little bastard! You call yourself a warrior?! If you lose your blade you fight with your fists! You lose your fists, bite with your teeth! Struggle and fight until the very end!" Kagekatsu yelled. "Save your breath, Kagekatsu." Said male looked at the new voice. "Such teachings hold no sway over young Kojiro." The man spoke. "B... But, Father..." Kagekatsu mumbled.

"Did you see what he...?" Kagekatsu mumbled. His Father softly sighed. "Brother, Kojiro is talentless with a blade. Why are we wasting our dojo's time with such a failure?" Kagemasa looked at the older man. "Hm... Kojiro, you held your own at first, so why surrender now?"
