Makoto knew something was missing. Something about the way the body was seen just doesn't line up with what he knew about Toko. But before he even knew it, he blurted out what he had thought. And everyone's attention was directed on to him.
"Why ain't she the murderer?" Leon barked. "She just confessed, didn't she?"
"You are not mistaken, at no point did Toko attempt to defend herself." Taka joined in. "Even though there is an ounce of difficulty to swallow of one of our classmates being a serial killer. Nevertheless, she had to have been the killer of Yasuhiro Hagakure!"
"Hmhmhm." Byakuya appeared amused by Makoto's sudden declaration for a second but kept up a stone-cold expression. "Claiming Toko is not the killer so boldly after we have discussed it in its entirety, that is quite the assumption. The motive that she had, that being holding her secret hostage unless a murder was to occur, or risk being leaked. Then following with the connection between the murder weapon, and the weapon that Genocide Jack always uses. And her confession to killing Yasuhiro is the prime reasoning."
"That's right, she did confess to killing Hiro." Sakura added. "How are we supposed to believe that she is not the killer Makoto?"
"No...it isn't the fact that Hiro was stabbed by Toko." Makoto confessed. "I think that's actually correct...but I don't think she was the killer."
"You're saying the person who stabbed him isn't the killer?" Leon asked. "What are you stupid!?"
"Exactly, so then why are you so adamant on suggesting Toko isn't the killer?" Byakuya smirked. "Surely you must have an answer prepared for us. So go on and tell everyone why she isn't the killer."
Makoto pondered his question. He needed to show everyone how Toko wasn't the killer.
[Non-Stop Debate]
"State of body."
"Unknown weapon."
"Blood smear."
"What the hell Makoto?" Leon asked. "I mean...she just said that she's the friggin' murderer!"
"You can't doubt the confessions of a murderer." Hifumi added. "There isn't another reason to confess to a murder..."
"If you were to have some sort of reason then that'd be different." Celeste pointed out.
"How can we believe what you're saying?" Taka asked. "Bring forth the information that you believe you have!"
"Toko frickin' stabbed Hiro." Mondo roared. "And you're sayin' she ain't the murderer huh?"
"When you get down to it, what we know easily matches up to the murderer, almost too perfectly." Byakuya claimed. "Everything aligns perfectly and solves all the mysteries behind what we didn't know. There really aren't any pieces of evidence that show Toko isn't the culprit!"
There was something in what he said, Makoto knew it. This was the chance he got to defend his statement.
"NO THAT'S WRONG!"
[Break!!]
"I think I actually have something that can help prove Toko isn't the culprit." Makoto spoke up.
"Hm, interesting very interesting." Byakuya commented. "I'll admit I am interested. So, what is it?"
"You remember how Hiro's body had been positioned?" Makoto responded. "He was lying face down, but Toko couldn't have been the one to do that."
