'click' the door to the med bay opened to reveal a tall old man
"huh?" a nurse spun around in her chair to see who might have entered the room "oh good afternoon sir, i assume your here to get a status update on our patients?" the nurse asked as she stood up.
"yes how are they doing?" the old man replied.
"well the first girl should be waking up soon, she had very few injuries just minimal burns and scratches, but i cant say the same for the other patient, she suffered severe injuries and was unable to be saved."
"what a shame, that poor girl wont be happy when she wakes up." the old man sighed as he sat down on a stool.
an hour had passed as the two continued to converse but they were blantly unaware of the young girl waking up in a bed just barely 8 feet away, "m-mom?' her voice barely audible as she cried out for her mother.
the young girl opened her eyes and looked around the room she was in, but unaware of her current location had filled her with fear, the longing to be with her mother was deepening as every second had passed, soon the old man had noticed the young girl had awakened.
"ah hello young one how do you feel?" the old man asked as he walked over.
"w-where is my mom?" the girl asked still filled with fear.
the old man sighed as he tried to figure out a way to tell her, "i fear we couldn't save her, her injuries were to severe, i'm sorry."
the young girl had sat up as he was talking, she simply stared at him, unsure of how to process this newly found information, to anyone else she appeared to be in a state of shock, tears streaming down her cheeks.
