"COACH TAYLOR, hey, it's me. Joe. Joe Burrow."
"I know who this is. Is everything okay?" Zac asked.
"Um...Um, well..."
"I'm having the baby." Alana panted.
"Yeah, so Alana, well...I'm driving right now—."
"Oh my God!"
Alana ripped the phone out of his hand.
"Zac! I am having my baby so Joe isn't coming this weekend because his child is being born and if Joe stays on the phone and doesn't step on the gas, I'm going to have our child in the car, so goodbye."
Alana then hung up the phone and slammed it down.
"Why did you do that? You could've been nicer!" Joe exclaimed.
"Joe, I love you, but would you please shut the hell up! I—. Ah!"
Alana clinched her stomach and squeezed her eyes shut.
"What's wrong? Is the baby coming? Are we having this baby in the car?" Joe mumbled.
"I'm fine! Stop asking me questions and drive!" Amelia shouted.
"Okay! Okay!"
Joe stepped on the gas and about ten minutes later, they arrived at the hospital.
One of the parking directors tapped on the window and Joe rolled it down.
"She's having a baby." Joe said.
"Um, okay. I can show you where to park unless you want to valet—."
"Yes! Valet!"
Joe hopped out of the car.
"You take the keys and the car!"
He handed the guy the keys, then ran over and helped Alana out of the car along with a hospital worker.
They brought her over to a wheelchair and wheeled her inside and a nurse came over.
"Hi, I'm nurse Michelle, I'm going to bring you to a room." Michelle introduced.
"Hi." Alana tried to smile through the pain.
Michelle turned to Joe and sent him a flirtatious smile. "You're the father?"
"Yes, I'm the father." Joe nodded.
"Alright. You can check in here and I will bring your lovely wife to a room." She smiled.
"Thank you." Joe thanked.
He couldn't tell she was being flirtatious because of his stress, but despite the pain, Alana could tell.
Michelle brought her to the room and Joe signed Alana in, then went to the room where the nurses were prepping Alana.
"Okay, mom, you're going to spread your legs and start pushing." Lacey, another nurse, directed.
Michelle shot Joe a look, then looked back at Alana.
"Okay."
Joe grabbed her hand she began pushing.
"Mmmm." She groaned.
"Okay, keep pushing mom, keep pushing!"
Alana kept pushing and moaning and groaning and panting.
"It's okay, Lana, just keep pushing. Squeeze my hand. You've got this." Joe encouraged.
Alana looked over at him and kept pushing.
"That's it, hon, we can see the head keep going."
"I-I can't." Alana panted.
"Yes, Alana, you can. You are the strongest girl I've ever met. I've never met anyone stronger than you. You've got this." Joe nodded.
Alana nodded back and continued pushing.
The next thing she knew, she heard crying.
She opened her eyes and they handed her a tiny little baby with the cutest nose.
"Hi. You're so beautiful." Alana smiled.
She looked up at Joe and motioned him to come over.
"Oh my God, that's my baby girl. Our baby girl."
Amelia looked up and him and smiled.
The nurses smiled, besides Michelle.
"We'll give you two a minute."
All of the nurses left and it was just Joe, Alana, and their baby left. They could not be more happy.
this feels rushed but i wanted to get something out
