CHAPTER FIFTY THREE

“Soliel...?” She was terrified when she heard that voice.

The voice she doesn't want to hear when she's breaking down, the voice she always hear when she make a mistake. The voice was from her mother, Somi.

She slowly turned around to face her mother and there, Somi was staring at her daughter horrified when she saw the tears running down the girl's cheeks.

Somi kneeled down to equal her daughter's height and pulled her into a tight hug. It was the first time Soliel felt the comfort and peace from her mother, she let herself sink in Somi's arms.

“Mama... Mama...” Soliel cries to her, her mother didn't said anything and rub her back while shushing her.

“Mama is here, darling. I'm here...” Somi whispered, placing a small kiss on Soliel's forehead.

Meanwhile, Luna was stomping her way back to their hut to let out her anger there and not noticing a pair of eyes watching every step she made. A small chuckled came out of the girl's lips which caught Luna's attention.

She was about to kill whoever was behind her and thank god that she didn't really do it because Jihyo was standing in front of her.

“Tia? You scared me!” Luna tried to hide the sadness she was feeling but that won't escape from Jihyo.

Jihyo put her arm over Luna's shoulder, “Why don't we have a talk, hmm? What's bothering you?”

“It's a long story.” Jihyo giggle and ruffle her hair.

“Well, this forest is big enough to have you tell me everything especially the sadness you're feeling right now.” Luna sighed in defeat because she will never win over her Tia.

The sun already rise, each step they take the deeper Luna's stories comes, telling everything that happened to her while Jihyo was gone to meditate on her own for quite a while.

Jihyo was nodding at her before she finally hear the final one, the sadness that Luna was feeling.

“So it's about Soliel. That kid sure has a lot of courage to be friends with you. You hate everyone.” Luna rolled her eyes which made Jihyo laugh a bit before her expression became straight.

“But you won't act or feel like this if you don't feel the same way, Luna.” Jihyo added which made Luna looked at her in confusion.

Luna immediately shakes her head and walked passed her Tia who just smirked at her, “I don't like her especially love her. I only see her as a friend.” She replied while scratching the back of her head.

“And even if I do feel the same way, different clans can't be together. Someone will either marry someone else or worse, die!” She said, fear was present in her tone because she faced her Tia.

“I don't want to lose her, Tia. If she die because I feel the same way, I'll kill myself!” Jihyo laughed at Luna which left the girl confused.

“You still believe in that myth? It's stupid, Luna. There hasn't been a record that one of them died. I spent years looking for it but nothing.” She softly said between her laughs.

“I can't break that forbidden rule. I'm a crowned Sultana and if I ever break that, my parents' reputation will be ruined. I don't want to disappoint them especially Dada.”

Jihyo gave her a small smile as she walked over to her and pinched her cheeks, “Do you think Chaeyoung and Somi never try to break that rule? They did everything to be together.”
