Dan was hurrying around his small home, cleaning it up to the best of his ability. Hiding anything that may seem "odd", or "incriminating", to someone who did not share his vision. Granted, he trusted Herbert West, would, although if he didn't, Dan still needed a room-mate. He hauled everything related to his studies down to the basement, where he'd originally promised himself he'd contain it to. But, Dan was a tinkerer, he liked to bring his notes and such with him so if he thought of something he had a place to jot it down. It's not like anyone visited anyway, and he kept his blinds closed at all times solely due to personal preference.

Despite expecting it, Dan still flinched when he heard a knock on the door. His foot steps were hurried, as he made his way to the front of the house. He swung the door open excitedly. Grinning as soon as he saw the smaller man. "Mr West!" Herbert flinched before giving an awkward smile in return. "Cain, a pleasure to meet you again." He chuckles awkwardly, looking down as Dan extended his hand for a hand shake. West was confused by the offer. He'd already tried once apon their first meeting, and Herbert had dodged it. Dan wasn't entirely sure why he wanted so desperately to shake Herbert's hand. He honestly just liked the idea of touching Herbert at all. Not like that- of course- the two had only met that day, and Cain was no pervert. At least, he hardly considered himself one.

Reluctantly, Herbert took the hand. Dan felt a sense of excitement wash over him. He squeezed the small hand. West's skin was surprisingly soft. He took a mental note of that, he wasn't sure why. He just did. He pulled Herbert in by that hand, earning a yelp from West as he stumbled forward. Dan chuckled and caught him a bit before shutting and locking the door. Dan didn't seem to notice, but West was a tad uncomfortable. "Perhaps moving in with a complete stranger the day they invited me to was a BAD idea." Herbert frowned. "Well, no shit, West."  He sighed, it's not as if he had many options. If Dan murders him at least he'll die with a roof over his head.

"Here, let me show you to your room." Dan said sweetly, there was a hint of anxiety rising in his voice though. Herbert seemed surprised when Dan lead him to the master bedroom, placed at the front of the house. "Is this not your room?" Herbert questioned, placing his one suitcase down just inside the doorway. Dan shook his head, it twitching slightly as he did, "No, I prefer the smaller room." He smiled a bit, still twitching. "I don't spend that much time in there anyway, honestly." He managed to hault his head as he finished the sentence. Herbert glanced at him and nodded a bit. "I see. Well, thank you." He gave Dan a half grin. "Of course." Dan smiled back.
