I never thought that I would telling the story again of my daughter being dead. And what happened her broke me and Ja'net hearts.
"We named ya'll mother Ashanti Marie because J'net was obsessed that name and she loved to sing like the singer Ashanti"
"Wow" we all said in unison
"She had a great childhood but she was the only child though; so Uncle Mar and Uncle Lou where the boys she grew up with so y'all always called them Uncle. They grew up like they were siblings and we always treated them like they were our kids"
"So why did both of them never have kids" Trey asked
"I'll get to that but lemme tell y'all the story first because it'll all make sense after I say this"

"Growing up around here your mother didn't have many female friends because the girls was jealous of her and we tried to tell her that but she was so kind she looked past it"

"Fast forward she met Nehemiah's mom, Lou, Mar, and another lady named Divine. We liked all the people she hung around except Divine because I had a feeling that bastard was a snake"
"Terrance!" Ja'net said slapping my arm

"But I had a bad feeling about her and I kept telling Ashanti that girl wasn't to be trusted and it's something about her that creeps me out"
"Why you say that" Grandbabi asked
"She knew your mother was insecure about her voice and always overthink so preyed on that. And your mother couldn't see it because she was happy to make two female friends because it was hard for her to make them at school"
"Ja'net you wanna continue?" I said holding her hand
"Sure, so fast forward she met this man name Greyson Nu'Moretti they went to the same college and he was 22 and Ashanti was 20 at the time" Ja'net said
"Wait so is that me and King's dad?" Grandbabi said
"Yes" we said in unison
"So how come we don't have his last name?"
"Because she wasn't married to him but she did wanna give y'all two last names but that didn't happen" I said
"Greyson Nu'Moretti came from an Italian background and his family was loaded and they had a lot of power and connections. Your mother was such a beautiful soul and the Prince of Russia wanted her but was upset he couldn't have her"
