The Magic Named Us

[Yeonjun's POV]

We're approaching Chaewon's 18th birthday, we had three days to prepare her party. From what I was able to tell, Eunbi noona said she didn't really particularly want to go out for her birthday. That meant we're celebrating at her dorm. While everyone in IZ*ONE was buying decorations and gifts, I was actually busy with something else. You see I'm actually making a song particularly for her birthday.

I sat down in my recording studio trying to write lyrics with Huening Kai, but it's easier said than done especially if one of your arms is injured. "It's more difficult than exam. To correctly guess your heart," Kai sang.

"That's a good first verse," I said. Huening Kai smiled with pride and continued to write the lyrics while I was brainstorming. "Where on earth did you hide it tell me the secret."

"Say now say now oh yeah say now say now please tell me now!"

"Time's up! Give me your wishlist Birthday, tell me your wish!"

"Say now say now oh yeah say now say now please tell me now!" We took a breather before speaking again. "That was great right?"

"You're kidding right? Of course it was."

"Phew I thought the say now part was stupid..."

"Nah that was creative and you came up with it on the spot."

"Thanks hyung!"

"Now then shall we continue writing the lyrics?"

"Yeah!" Huening Kai and I continued song writing for Wishlist and Taehyun even stepped in to help.

It's the next day and we finished song writing, Taehyun handed everybody their lyrics and we began rehearsals. We wanted to make sure we put in our best effort since this is Chaewon's birthday and she did quite a lot for me for me and Yena's birthday. Just then someone knocked on the door and I checked to see who it was.

"Hey Yeonjun!" Yena said.

"Oh Yena what brings you here?" I asked.

"I figured I'd see how the song is coming along."

"It's coming along nicely Yena," Soobin said.

"That's great! I'm sure Chaewon would love your song!"

"Anyways we're ready to record soon!" Beomgyu said.

"Alright I'll record each of your lines," I said as we walked inside the studio. Beomgyu stepped in first and we made sure to prevent any background noise by closing the sound blocking curtains in the window. As everyone began singing Yena took me outside before my turn as she seemed like she had something to say.

"Yeonjun oppa..." Yena said.

"What's wrong? Did I do something wrong?" I asked.

"Pabo!" Yena shouted before starting to cry.

"Yena??"

"How could I almost lose you bro?"

"Yena I-"

"I was worried you would've died going to save Chaewon-ah! That's why after you left I told Nako about what you were doing!"

"So that's how she knew what was going on right away."

"Exactly, you said you couldn't imagine losing me but I can't imagine losing you either! I was gonna confront you like this sooner but I never got the time."

"So you needed to let that off your chest?" I asked.

"Yes! I-I wouldn't know what to do without you!" Yena said and hugged me.
