(OUTDATED) Octonauts: Swapped

Note: In this chapter, there will be a small mention of a headcanon I have of Min being genderfluid. Also for any of my stories, any of the pirate characters (swap or main) will be 'written like a pirate' whenever they think or talk. If you would like a line to be clarified, don't be afraid to ask.

Min's POV
I went down the octoshoot 'n walked toward Paani's cabin/mini workspace. I found 'im drawin' on a piece o' paper. I decided I wanted t' climb up the ladder 'n see wha' he be workin' on.

Min: Ahoy matey! Wha' are ye workin' on?
Paani: (Turns his head around) Howdy Min, I'm just sketching designs for possible new gups.
Min: Can I see?
Paani: I don't see why not.

Paani's POV
Min pointed out some of the draws, telling me that she liked them. he especially liked one of the designs that looked like a stingray and told me that it would be cool if it was turned into an actual gup. To be honest some of the gups were just made because I thought they would look cool. For example the Gup-B a.k.a Min's favorite gup. The whole reason why I made that gup was just that I wanted to make a gup that could go at rapid speeds and to see how fast I could a gup go. Speaking of Min it was odd when last night at dinner they ate a lot and were fairly quiet. I think the only time she spoke was when Natquik asked him if they were okay. I kept glancing over at her, he didn't seem like themself. Now I'm really curious about what's going through her mind...

Min: So wha' kind o' design be it that ye're creatin' now? It looks pretty cool.
Paani: Thanks I've got two more in the works but I haven't drawn them yet. How are you feeling now?
Min: Oh! I be feelin' great matey, how are ye doin'? Why are ye askin'?
Paani: I'm doing just fine. Yesterday you seemed down, I just wanted to make sure you're doing alright.
Min: First Natquik, now ye? (puts her hands up halfway) Wha' are ye goin' t' tell me next? That the rest o' the crew noticed that I was sad?
Paani: Yes! Everyone noticed! It's out of character for you.
Min: Ah... (places hand her neck) Well, do ye wants t' know why I was upset? 'twas 'cause I saw a picture o' me mother. All o' ye know that I love natterin' about her but it hurts me t' see any picture o' her.
Paani: (places his hands on Min's shoulder)
I know Min. You can always speak to me about your feelings, I won't tell anyone, I promise. I'm sorry I mentioned it, I shouldn't have.
Min: Thank ye matey, don't be sorry about it. (puts his arms around Paani's shoulder, hugging him) Ye be mighty sweet, ye know? Ye're a good scallywag 'n teammate, I'm glad I met ye.
Paani: (Hugs back) Thanks, Min.
Min: (Stops hugging Paani and takes a couple of steps back) Well see you later  Paani. I'm goin' t' take the Gup-B fer a drive! (she starts walking towards the ladder)
Paani: (Chuckles) You better not crash it or I won't be so kind.
Min: (Turns their head back to Paani) When was the last time that crashed the Gup-B again matey?
Paani: (Paani places his hand on his chin while pondering about the last time when Min crashed the Gup-B. It's been a long time since the last time she crashed the gup.) My best guess is a couple of days ago.
Min: Actually Paani it's been a couple o' months since I last crashed me gup.
Paani: You better keep it that way.
Min: A pirate ne'er makes any promises. Oh! Would ye mind openin' the hatch fer me?
Paani: Sure thing Min.

Min quickly went down the ladder and quickly rushed to the Gup-B. Paani followed behind and then went to the control panel to open the hatch for him. "Thanks, matey!" Min shouts as she left. Paani closes the hatch once Min leaves and starts walking away until he freezes in place.

Paani's POV
Did Min just say 'thanks'?! He said thank you to me!? Did I hear them correctly? I definitely did, and she definitely said 'thanks'. That has to be the first time he said 'thanks' to me, no that has to be the first time they said 'thanks' ever. I'm so used to her never thanking me, I am not exactly sure how to feel about this. Should I feel something? Why did he thank me? Why haven't they thanked me before? Geez, I'm thinking about this a bunch, aren't I? I just smile to myself and get back to sketching possible designs for gups. Usually, it's a thankless job when opening the hatch for him so this was a pleasant surprise. It honestly made me happy when they said 'thanks' and the fact that it's been a couple of months since she last wrecked the Gup-B is impressive. Hopefully, Min didn't jinx herself.
