AN: Without spoiling what's going on in this epilogue, I'm just gonna say that if you managed to get this far and you don't approve of Boy × Boy relationships, you need to leave right now- 😄
Also, this is still from DJ's POV to avoid confusion.

Shortly after I returned to my parents at the exit of the Flopside Pit of 100 Trials, and after I showed that I didn't get even more hurt, I tried to keep myself as mentally busy as possible. I knew that as soon as I slowed down I would start thinking about my missing arm, and I didn't want to! I didn't need to deal with that mess after everything I just went through to get everyone a better ending!
Currently, I was sitting on my bed in my room - and it was an ACTUAL bedroom. About a week after those "events", Uncle Luigi offered to help the three of us get a place to stay. Although, I'm fairly certain he was just trying to make up for telling me about the Dark Prognosticus and stuff from before without my dads knowing.
We lived in a small house that was a bit on the run-down side, and it was also a tad far from any town, but it was pleasant. My dad opened up a sort of repair and mechanics shop in the garage, and my father spent time with a lot of "odd jobs", as they were called, to earn money. Most people were wary of us, and I don't blame them, but we've blended into the background fairly easily. So did all of my friends, from what I hear.
Kade and his mom went to live in a place called Rogueport where their ancestry originated, Origana and her dad went to stay with an "Origami Craftsmith" (Origana's grandpa?), and Onyx was staying with his Aunts/Uncles(?) the Paint Stars (after a LOT of explaining) in a place called "Port Prisma. We always come together and visit at least once every week, an effort made possible by our combined powers of teleportation, flight, and others.
My friends all offered their help and sympathy, trying to make me feel better about my missing arm. Or at least that's what they thought they were doing. To me, it felt like they were just baby-ing me even more! Which I did NOT want. I let them fuss over me to keep their spirits up, yes, but when I'm by myself, I'm left with a sorrowful feeling. They had good intentions, and I love all of them, but it just felt too weird...
I was beginning to feel the full-blown effects of my missing limb. From phantom pains to difficulty doing normal daily tasks, it disheartened me, to say the least. My 16th birthday was coming up in about a month, and yet I still felt like just some kind of kid. I have access to the Chaos Heart, for Grambi's sake, and I still can't even do much magic!
Looking at my nightstand, I could see my necklace hanging from the reading lamp, a small black glow from the gem showing that the Heart was inside. My parents tried to find a way to get rid of it at first, but the Chaos Heart won't even allow me to be ten feet away from it, let alone be destroyed. I don't know why this is, but my father won't give me a reason, so we've left it at that. I've simply been instructed to use it sparingly and to never let it inside of me.
Despite this, that stupid Heart can't bring my arm back!
A light tapping noise snapped me from my deep thoughts, pulling me back to the present after staring off into space for maybe an hour. Glancing around, I saw Toady in its charging station in sleep mode, so it didn't make the noise. Assuming it must've been my door, I got up and opened it, peering down into the hallway that led past my dad and father's room into the kitchen.
"Hellooooo..?" I warily trailed off, arching an eyebrow.
Not seeing either of my parents, I closed the door and stepped back inside my room. I heard it again, another "tap tap tap". Was my brain just playing tricks on me now? I wouldn't put it past myself!
