Chapter 35 - Classes and Lectures

"You sure are popular, huh?" Once we were in front of our class, my companion spoke out for the first time. She was shy around people she didn't know well; thus, I knew she felt uncomfortable with all the stares she was getting as a result of being next to me. Though, I was grateful that she stuck it out beside me instead of leaving me by my lonesome.

"Really Gloria? I thought the boys were all looking at you, actually." A playful grin formed on my face as she blushed at my witty comment. She was by no means unattractive, having long platinum blond hair and mesmerising emerald eyes which contrasted beautifully against her porcelain skin and flawless complexion. Her lips looked soft and inviting and if most men looked carefully, they probably couldn't help but stare when they caught sight of her full pouty mouth. Not to mention, her uniform gave her a cute and charming appeal.

But alas, none of these physical attributes seemed to be enough to hold the attention of the male population who only seemed interested in me instead! So much so that even those guys who would usually find themselves drawn to my partner, still stared at me anyway! Although, I highly doubt she minded the lack of attention. She was reserved by nature after all, not too keen on being the centre of attraction herself.

I made my way towards the classroom, amused by her panicked appearance, while Gloria lagged after. And once again, all heads turned to face me, and murmuring commenced. Once again, I tried to ignore them and focused on finding a seat.

Arthur and Elijah were also in this class as well, so I prioritised a spot that had multiple free seats around it, and one such spot could be found at the back of the classroom. Making our way up to it, we sat down and gossiped about our school life until the boys finally arrived.

At my husband's sight, murmuring ensued once again. Most of the comments were of boys theorising on how a commoner like him got in the Disciplinary Committee, whilst the girls were commenting on his looks. Some whispered words of praise or admiration for the handsome man standing before them. A lot of people wanted to know what kind of person he was. I couldn't blame them, seeing how handsome he looked with those chiselled features. Not to mention his immaculate attire, complete with a perfectly pressed black suit with golden chains hanging from it. The cut of his suit made him appear even more dashing and powerful than ever, giving off an aura of authority and intimidation that anyone who met him would never forget. If anything, there wasn't any woman alive who wouldn't want to fall head over heels for him, if not already having done so!

A strange feeling welled up inside of me. No, it would be better to call it a mixture of feelings. On one hand, I was proud that the man they're all fawning over and dreaming to have, I had already seduced. But on the other hand, it made me furious. I wanted to take him away from their prying eyes and put him somewhere no one can see and talk to him privately. Where we could just enjoy each other without a single worry in our mind.

I shook my head and mentally reprimanded myself; this was the hormones in my adolescent body making me act rash. There's nothing to be jealous about! Arthur is my mine after all, and being as handsome as he was, he'd always get attention whether you like it or not. Besides, he was already used to people staring at him for so long now, that he doesn't even pay attention to it anymore. In fact, sometimes when someone stares too much at him for a prolonged period, he'll look right at them and smile so innocently that they'd either avert their gaze, or stare at him in a trance with a crazed blush on their faces! It almost seemed like he enjoyed it. I hated when he did that!

"Kyaa~! He smiled at me!"

"No, he obviously smiled at me!"

"Why would he smile at your ugly face!"

My left eyebrow twitched, and I tensed my fist. Why would he smile at either of your ugly faces! A hand placed itself over my balled-up fist and squeezed it. Looking over the source of the hand, I was met by the mischievous face of Gloria.
