TUESDAY 21ST JULY 11:43 DC TIME

"Officer Lopez," I said as I answered the phone
"Alex, it's Spencer. Spencer Reid." Spencer replied almost like he was worried I wouldn't know who he was, "I need a favour."
"Hey Spence long time no see, I guess you got my last letter."
"Yeah I got it, I sent you a letter a few days ago I don't know if you got it?" Spencer asked, I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed talking to him, hearing the sound of his voice rather than just reading his letters.
"No, I'm sorry Spence. Anyway, what about that favour I owe you?" I questioned the boy genius
"Alex I think it was the other way around." he chuckled
"No, I distinctly remember stopping you from bleeding out on a street in London and you saying 'I owe you one'." I reminisced
"Then I correctly profiled my own attacker and got your job back at MI6 for you." he sassed
"Spencer in the time we've been arguing you could've been here. What do you need?"
"I need your half of the brain." It was an old joke from when we worked together as part of the task force, me and Spence worked so well together that the higher-ups said it was like we were 2 halves of the same brain. "We have a case and I need you we can technically get NCIS jurisdiction because one of the victims is a marine. We can say we need access to military databases. So joint investigation?"
"You're pushing your luck here Spence good job I love you. Do you want the team or just me?" I said
"Just you for now and maybe your tech analyst." He said, I could hear the smile in his voice
"We have a forensic scientist, I'll bring her. How's the team?" I asked as I gathered my stuff
"We're alright,"
"I may need to bring someone else with me, is that okay?" I said knowing Vance wasn't just gonna let me take Abby all alone to wherever Spence was
"Yeah sure, I'll tell Hotch, he can speak to your boss." I could hear he was disappointed
"Where are you?"
"Hawaii, but our tech analyst is in Quantico. Can you get there?"
"Yeah, of course, that's our territory. We also have an NCIS office in Pearl if you want backup?"
I heard Hotch in the background, "We can have the jet pick you up from Quantico but we may need SWAT and extra personnel for raids."
"You hear that?"
"Yeah thanks, Spence, I'll text Agent Jareau for the file and Tennant for her connections," I spoke gathering my stuff ready to speak to Gibbs and Vance.
"Of course, I said in the letter but you haven't gotten it yet JJ asked for you to call her JJ she said 'A friend of Spence is a friend of mine, my friends call me JJ'."
"Okay, I'll text JJ,"
"I will see you soon"
"See you, Spencer," I replied then he hung up

TUESDAY 21ST JULY 11:51 DC TIME

"Director-" I opened the door to the director's office without knocking
"I've already spoken to SSA Hotchner and had a formal request from the director of the FBI which I've accepted. SecNav wants as many people on this as possible. It's an attack on our military it's an attack on our country." Director Vance filled me in
"Thank you, director but I have a rapport with the BAU. They are, special individuals. It's enough with possibly needing Tennant's team I don't want them to feel like we're overwhelming them or trying to take over." I tried to explain, I understand Spencer and the BAU. They are unique and can feel threatened, plus many people don't understand what they do and how effective it is
"Officer Lopez, SecNav is more concerned with stopping these murders than hurting the FBI's feelings." I understood where SecNav was coming from but not everyone can work with the BAU but I kept that to myself
"Yes, director."
"Have the team ready to go in 20." He said as I left the office

TUESDAY 21ST JULY 12:05 DC TIME

15 minutes later I was in the passenger seat of one car with Tony driving, Abby in the back with McGee. In the other car were Ziva, Ducky, Jimmy and Gibbs. We were all on our way to Quantico where we would leave Abby with the BAU's tech analyst while the rest of us flew to Hawaii. We were on a conference call so I could brief the team, JJ had sent the file and all the notes they had.
"So we have 4 bodies, and only one is a marine but that's how the BAU got us jurisdiction with them. The victims never crossed paths. All got families, one with no kids, one with 2 and two with just one kid. The other victims never came on the same as our marine bases, kids never went to the same school. We got absolutely nothing to connect them or their families. All were found beaten to death in a ditch in Hawaii, none should have been there. The marine victim was given leave but didn't tell his family that he had leave or where he was going the rest also didn't tell their families where they were going and people only noticed they were missing when their families didn't hear anything for longer than usual. Spence says victimology is fairly random one's blond, one's ginger, one's brunet, one's black the others are whites."
"Spence?" Tony asked
"Dr Spencer Reid of the FBI's behavioural analysis unit."
"FBI? Do I sense something more than friendship?"
"Shut your mouth DiNozzo." I snapped, I was worried about Spence
"McGee find out what you can in military records that the FBI doesn't have access to see if they have a connection. Ziva help him and Alex, when we get to Quantico, go get Abbs set up with the FBI girl and see what they have that they're not telling us. I'll take DiNozzo to go with Ducky and Palmer onto the plane. you have half an hour from when we get there to do what you need to and get to the plane."
"Gibbs-" the call ended "Spence told us everything." I finished knowing that he couldn't hear me
