Chapter 49

"And so did I. That day when I woke up, I truly thought that some zombies killed our parents... Then I went to your room and saw you nowhere. I just thought you were dead or something..."

She said, taking a shaky breath

"After seeing that, I just ran away and screamed your name on the streets, some people found me and took care of me. After a few years, I was brought to a shelter, who slowly became a part of the construction of this city. I was basically here since the beginning"

She continued, explaining her story.

"Then, I'm happy you were secured"

Minho answered, smiling at her.

"And why did you decide to join the army? And why are you still a trainee?"

Jisung asked the girl.

"I decided a few months ago. I just had a few problems growing up with the other kids, I was always fighting with others, sometimes getting a bit violent... I just thought that spending my energy in the army would get rid of my anger issues"

She said, chuckling, which made Jisung laugh.

"You're just like your older brother"

Jisung said, laughing, receiving a nudge from Minho because of his joke.

"And here you have to be a trainee for a long time before joining the army and going on missions. They are really strict, there's a whole discipline"

She explained

"Boring"

Jisung said, pouting

"Yeah kind of, but it did help me"

She said, smiling.

"I'm happy to meet you Minho"

She added, truthfully happy

"I mean, we did meet before"

He said, joking around

"It's not like I have a lot of memories from then. I just remember you were always dancing around the house"

She said, teasing her brother, which made Jisung laugh out loud.

"By the way Jisung" She said, smirking at him "When we met, you talked to me about how you left and now I see you with all your friends, what happened?" She asked

"Oh.. Uhm... I just decided to go back"

He said, getting embarrassed. Minho looked at him, showing him a teasing smile and taking a sip of water in a sassy way.

"And what about your lover boy?"

She asked. Minho choked out his water as he heard it, blushing along with Jisung. He looked at him, wanting to tease him a bit.

"Yeah, what about him?"

Minho asked, smirking at him

"Wait! is it him??"

She asked, pointing at her brother. Jisung didn't said anything, just started blushing profusely, Soyeon taking that as a yes and laughing out loud.

"This is a small damn world"

She said, in between her laughs.

"Okay, now I need to know the whole story"

She added, putting her head on her hands, as if she was ready for a gossip.

"This is so embarrassing"

Minho said, hiding his face on his hands.

"Basically, we had a crush on each other, then we got into an argument because he thought I was fucking my bestfriend" Minho started, but was cut off by Jisung

"In my defense, they used to"

He said, making Minho roll his eyes.

"Then we went on a mission to kill X, we had a whole romantic confession, but my weak ass body didn't tank a grenade, so I fell unconscious while Jisung killed the shit out of X. Long story short, I was mad at him because I wanted to kill X by my own hands, wanting to take revenge and all, so I told him that I hated him and stuff"

He said, actually not feeling awkward. Both Jisung and Minho felt it was refreshing to talk about the whole story as if it was nothing and that was just in the past. They both felt so much better with each other now.

"Wow, you're an asshole"

Soyeon said, judging him jokingly

"I know right"

Jisung added, joking around too. Minho chuckled at that.

"I know I know, but I did suffer a lot from it"

Minho answered, half-jokingly. Even if the atmosphere was light, Jisung and Soyeon could see how much pain was coming off from Minho's eyes. Jisung took Minho's hand from under the table, tightening it.

"But enough about that, what did he tell you about me?"

Minho asked, smirking again. Jisung whined, hiding his face.

"Oh, he just told me the man he loves had been an ass to him so he left"

She said, insisting on the 'loves', embarrassing Jisung. Minho chuckled at that, but felt his heart flutter. He was delighted to know that Jisung still loved him.

As they finished their plate, the discussion came to a stop. Soyeon decided to go back home, she still had a lot of work to do, so they seperated, Jisung and Minho going back to the hotel.
