-A few months later

Ethan-

I wake up to birds chirping away, the sunshine seeps thru my window. I flutter open my eyes to the white ceiling, I decide to sit up and my attention diverts to my PC which I forgot to turn off as I was playing minecraft with Elijah yesterday night.

I get off my bed and stretch. I take in the morning and it seems to be a regular day like any other till I walk further out of my bedroom. There is commotion going on the hallway, I can hear voices and by that I mean I can hear the loud screams of my mom.

After hearing her panicked cries, I quickly run into the hallway and there she is, my mom standing next to a group of cops, begging them to find Elijah. My dad is also there, trying to remain calm.

"What is going on?" I step in.

The cops go silent and have a look of sympathy on their faces while my mom points at Elijah's empty room. His bed in unmade and the brutal wind is making the curtain fly. It looks quite unsettling.

She tries to speak but the words won't leave her mouth, she cries into my dad's chest.

"Where is he?" I ask regarding Elijah.

My dad sighs, "You're brother is missing." he says sternly.

"What!?!" I am flabbergasted. This just shook me out of my sleepy state. I just woke up and my world gets turned upside down, what the fuck is going on? Where is my little brother? This has got to be a prank. Please tell me it is.

"You need to come to the police station with us and tell us all about Elijah. We'll look into his case and alert the town." The cop spoke and took my parents away to their vehicle.

Slowly, the remaining cops exited with them one by one except this blonde cop.

"I advise you to go to school, kiddo." He patted my back and then left too.

I feel all kinds of emotions right now but that man was right. I should get myself to school and meet Amie. She always makes me feel happy, maybe she can take my mind off this and reveal it to be a shitty april fools joke or something.

I get ready with a heavy heart and wait for the bus which arrives at time. I take a deep breath and enter the vehicle, everyone is looking at me funny. I try to brush it off and sit in my usual sit. I notice the conductor and even the driver staring at me from time to time. I honestly feel super uncomfortable.

Soon enough, we arrive at the school. I get off and make my way to the first class of the day. It's biology. I cross the school hallway with hesitant and quiet footsteps, I look down at the ground while walking since I feel everyone's eyes on me. They must know.

I keep my head down and quickly escape the situation but it doesn't end there. At biology class, the teacher is giving me this weird look. I try my best to avoid eye contact with her and continue on with the rest of my classes.

Lunch arrives and I lay low. I plan to avoid everyone today that's why I am sitting on the corner table alone, i don't wanna talk about my brother. I haven't even completely processed the news yet. Maybe coming to school wasn't a good idea actually. Then I see Amie walking towards me and all of my doubts wash away.

"Are you okay?" She sits down next to me and places her hand on mine.

"No not really." I reply honestly.
