Ethan-

After reading missing page #8, I stare ahead of me with a racing mind. This is fucking terrifying and mysterious. Elijah's situation keeps escalating and my mind is going places. Why was Corl feeling the same way as my brother? Why was y/n being weird? Was it all a coincidence? Was my brother actually going crazy along with Corl? Why'd i find this? Was me finding this deliberate? Is someone behind this? Is y/n the bad guy?

I don't know which question to focus on first. Everything thing seems surreal, i don't know what's happening to me. Now I know what elijah felt on the first day of school after the Jack incident. Fear is burying me alive, I feel like things are gonna go wrong. Bad bad things will happen to me and the people I love.

My sanity is withering away and everyday keeps getting worse. I can't find Elijah and I can't find the questions to these answers either like why the fuck was y/n acting like that and how did Corl feel the same things????

Then I'm startled and I drop the page on the ground as I hear my phone going off in the next room also known as my bedroom. I sigh in relief and pick up the page. I quickly grab it and put it in my safe drawer before picking up the call.

The caller ID reveals it to be an incoming call from Denis.

"hello." I pick up. I sound so unenthusiastic, I am more so scared if anything and quite curious off all the things Elijah stated. The scariest part is the hand writing is his! that is 100 percent one of the missing pages of his diary. I have goosebumps. What are they doing to my poor brother?

"Hey! I thought we were meeting up at the diner. It's Sunday! No school!." He speaks from the other end.

"Hmm." I reply in a dry tone as flashbacks of what I read disrupt my thinking process.

"You coming or not?" Denis asks.

I roll my eyes, "Sure why not." and hang up. I get ready, that's a broad term. All I do is put on some deodrant and call it a day.

I rush down stairs and inform my mom that I am seeing a few friends. She just nods, my family has stopped talking lately I've noticed. No one has anything to say like ever. they all talk with their defeated gaze. I guess everyone adopted the same coping mechanism after Elijah's disappearance.

I brush it off and walk to the diner which isn't that far from home. I step foot into the vicinity and yet again I'm brought into a different era full of vintage deeds, psychedalic romance songs and jukeboxes. I spot my friends sitting at a corner table, waving at me with excitement written all over their faces. It seems unsettling to me.

Anyway, I take a seat with them.

Sub-

The whole atmosphere of the room dropped when Ethan walked in, I know everyone else felt it too but they're carrying on with their conversation while giving Ethan and each other the look. I notice Ethan staring right at y/n with his 'crazy' eyes.

I am honestly worried about the guy.

"Was it all a coincidence?' He utters out of the blue while holding firm eye contact with y/n.

"What?" she chuckles awkward-ly.

Instead of replying Ethan asks another question with the same sinister and revenge driven look in his eyes, "Why were you staring at him weird?"

The whole room along with y/n is silent, we're all creeped out but I know all of us feel sympathy for Ethan too. His mental health is probably in shambles, he needs help. Then we are interrupted by the waiter bringing us our food.

We continue to talk over the food. Actually, we're doing the eating while Ethan is doing the talking.

He shoots Corl a look, "The air you all breathed felt lethal right-"

Corl speaks over him, mid sentence, "I think this guy is on acid." He points at Ethan and shares a look with Denis who tries his best to hold in his laughter.

"You were living in constant fear an- and- something was going to go wrong, you could feel it in your bones." Ethan completes his sentence and Corl's expression shift drastically, he looks at Ethan with disbelief.

"How do you kno-" He seems to be pondering.

"You were scared of everything. After the incident the world changed and so did the school." Ethan speaks.

Corl scoffs, "Dude how do you know I said that? It was the first day of school for Elijah and you. I had smoked pot for the first time, I was just tripping. I didn't mean those things."

Ethan looks upset.

"Sorry to burst your bubble." Corl shrugs.

"Okay but how'd you and Denis resolve things? Didn't you two used to hate each other?" Ethan asks and the room goes silent yet again.

Denis and Corl share a look.

"Boy have you not been keeping up." states Corl, sarcastically.

"Let's just say that Elijah left us with a bond tighter than ever. It was him." Denis credits Elijah and doesn't talk much on the topic. He leaves it up to everyone's imaginations and memories.

Ethan's presence still feels off and this conversation drained him, I assume.

"How about we take a walk in the forest? You know get some fresh air?" I suggest and everyone agrees. They understand the Ethan situation too.

I get up first and the rest follow. Ethan has a bitter expression on his face.

-

We enter the forest that is lively and endless. The tress look so dull, it's fall after all. Evening is approaching and I see a beautiful sunset in view. This is such a perfect time to be here.

The group notice the sunset too and we all run towards it to get a better look. Everyone is ahead of me and Ethan is behind me. I am second last. I have to admit I always look out for him but this sunset got me distracted.

I don't know if he was behind me the whole time. He's a danger to himself and potentially others. I hate seeing Ethan like this, he reminds me of Elijah in a saddening way.

First we lost Elijah and now Ethan seems to be losing himself.

I  turn around and I am right. I should've looked back before. Ethan is far behind from the group, I run towards his direction. I see he is holding up a paper in his hands and staring at it with wide eyes.

"You okay, bud?" I speak softly and put my arm on his shoulder.

He jumps back, "I- I gotta go."

"Let me walk you home." I offer.

"No-o I need to go now." He says and takes off instantly. Letting him go doesn't feel like the safe option so I just do what my gut tells me to do. I follow Ethan home.

His pace gets slower when he's out of the forest. He is careful with the on coming traffic but it feels like he is in a panicked state. He crosses the area full of traffic in a hurry.

When he gets into his neighbourhood, he pulls out that page from before and starts reading it while walking home. I cant see the look on his face. What does the page even say? Is it bad or good? Who knows.

Then Ethan arrives home and quickly barges in thru his front door. He makes sure to lock it behind him. I stand and stare at the best residence, then my gaze travels to Ethan's bedroom window. He just switched on the light but his blinds are closed.

I am worried about him.
