They said I could do what I like with this fic, so this is a Mer au, because it's almost Summer.

It was a nice summer day, the sun high in the sky as it was 1 p.m., Name had set out to a cove they found they found near their house. It was very secluded and beautiful. The crystalline water was sparkling and a beautiful sapphire blue. The rocks were high and mighty as it took a while to scale them to get there. The shore was clean, as Name had cleaned it after some had found it many years ago and wrecked it.

Name breathed in the salty air. They almoat forgot their picnic basket, but they grabbed it last second. They then popped on their headphones as they selected a song on their phone.

They were walking from their front door to the cove. They picked up trash from the locals on the way and put it in the bins on the way.

They arrived at the tall rocks and began to scale it. They grunted from not being used to doing this too often as they had only found this place a month ago. They strained and sweat the whole way up.

Name stood on top of the rock in a triumphant pose, setting the picnic basket on the rocks next to them as the top was flatter on this side.

They grabbed the basket after they were done posing.

The walk down was easier as they just slid down the smooth rock down to the sand. They definitely got dirt on their shorts.

They saw everything around them and just felt ethereal. It was quite a sight. But what they didn't see were the big purple eyes looking at them with confusion and interest.

The basket was set down and they laid down the towel so they wouldn't get sand on themself. Rummaging through the basket, they pulled out a sandwich they had made prior to coming there. It was nice and savory.

They had never taken off their headphones and were listening to their music with glee. They were happily humming the song with their eyes closed, just enjoying the breeze.

Eyes watched their every move and tracked them like a radar. The purple eyes following their frame were enamored with them and the food. They looked ethereal. The mer just chalked it up to them being human and just different, as not many came here. He was also focused on the food in their hand.

Since he was a confident bastard- I mean leader, he decided to swim up to the shore and onto the land. The human never noticed as they were too engrossed in their music to see what was going on around them. That was until the green mer was right up in their face.

"Yo, what the fuck!?" The human said as they shot up and fell back from surprise. They were just startled. They got a good look at the mer before them. He (assuming) had light green skin, two antennae with frills on his head, bright amethyst eyes, and jewelry to match said eyes. He was as well very skinny, minus the bright purple tail. He was fucking pretty.

"Wow... pretty..."

"Why thank you!"

Okay, you were not expecting him to sound like Pleakley from Lilo and Stitch. He had a very shrill voice that was pitchy and... alien in a way.

They got up a bit and sat up. They crossed their legs and just sat there for a good second, just looking at the mer.

Until the big ass fish decided to speak up.

"Wuzzat you're eating?"

"It's a sandwich, want some?"

He happily agreed and took the portion you gave him, which was another sandwich from your basket. (Just incase a hot person who liked picnics came by and liked sandwiches, so they could bond over things) He happily munched it down like he hasn't eaten in days.

They watched silently as he ate and just looked at him. Until he was finished eating. "Hey, who are you?" They suddenly questioned. "Oh, my name is Almighty Tallest Purple, ruler of the Irken Empire!" He said it with so much pride, you swore he was beaming. Too bright.

"Oh, okay! My name is Name Last Name. It's nice to meet you." They extended their hand to punctuate. The big ass fish silently glared at them. 'Okay, so no shaking hands.' They retracted their hand and smiled. Not everyone likes physical touch.

"Well, how are you? Is there a reason you wanted my food?" They questioned. The mer stopped staring and opened his mouth to speak saying, "I'm fine, uh... I kind of just really like food. Do you have any donuts? I really like donuts." They in fact did have donuts. So they reached into their basket and fished out the donuts, there were 2, but Name didn't feel too hungry for donuts.

They gave him the donuts and he hungrily took them and scarfed them down. Damn. Haha, you could make a 'your mom' joke out of this.

They looked at the time and realized they had to leave. They had to go home and feed their cat, Garfunkel. So they spoke up.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I have to leave, thank you for the company! Bye!" They hurriedly gathered their things and began to scale the giant rocks again.

The mer looked at them with admiration. Something in him felt fluttery. He felt light and warm, and longed to see the human again.

He was going to give them something to say thanks. He felt like he had to. But he probably wouldn't because he's a selfish prick and is also a stupid bitch and would forget later.
