Two Weeks After Custody Hearing
"Hey Sean." Dave cooed to the baby. "You're a handsome little devil." he remarked as he admired the baby in his bouncy chair. He was seated in the upstairs kitchen at the studios with Roger enjoying a morning cup of tea.
"Do you think he kind of looks like me?" Roger asked his engineer. Dave eyed the fair skinned blond baby and then looked at Roger. He wanted to make his friend feel good.
"Yeah...a bit!" Dave replied. Realizing that since he had told the baby he was handsome, Roger wanted to hear he was too. He found it amusing.
"Have you and Fiona ever considered having a kid?" Roger asked Dave. Curious about his engineer and his girlfriend's plans. Dave shrugged.
"We haven't managed to get to the altar...let alone thought about children." Dave admitted. "No feeling to rush really." he remarked. Roger remembered Dave was only 31 and Fiona was 27. He wouldn't have been ready at that age either. For marriage or children.
"I hear you." Roger told him. "It will feel different when you get to be in your mid 30's." he pointed out.
"I expect it does feel different when you're closer to 40." Dave agreed. "Past your prime and all!" he added teasingly with a wink. Roger elbowed him playfully.
"Haha!" Roger stated sarcastically. Dave chuckled and sipped his tea. Sean began making fussing noises and Roger stepped over to check him. He glanced over at the schedule printed on the wall and had to admit it helped with knowing what to do for the baby. Brian had a valid point with displaying that timetable.
"Looks like its time for a bottle." Roger announced. Watching as Sean popped the dummy from his mouth and it fell into his lap. Roger went to the counter and began preparing the bottle as Dave observed. His hand gently wiggling Sean's socked foot.
"That is so damn domestic!" Davie remarked with amusement as he watched Roger scoop the formula powder into the bottle.
"Could be you someday." Roger cautioned. He finished preparing the bottle and then picked up Sean from the bouncy chair. Getting settled in a chair with him at the table as he began feeding him. Dave sipped his tea and watched with interest. They both heard the sound of someone coming down the hall.
"Brian's back." Roger remarked as his husband appeared in the kitchen doorway. He was carrying the cat carrier and bent down to set it on the floor. Opening the door to the carrier.
"How did his check up go?" Roger questioned as he watched Jesus slink out of the carrier and walk towards his water bowl. Brian had taken Jesus in for his annual checkup and vaccinations.
"He's in great shape. No problems." Brian reported. "Morning Dave." he said as he placed the carrier in the corner and walked over to smile at Roger feeding Sean.
"Morning Brian." Dave replied as he sipped his tea.
"How's Sean?" Brian questioned.
"He's hungry." Roger replied. Continuing to hold the bottle up as Sean drank from it eagerly. His tiny hands gripping on to the bottle.
"Do you need me to take him?" Brian offered. "I know you probably need to get downstairs." he mentioned. Roger looked down at Sean and wasn't ready to relinquish him to Brian just yet.
"We're good." Roger responded. Sharing a warm smile with Brian. Both of them acknowledging this was an enjoyable experience.
"I guess you won't be making your own record anytime soon." Dave remarked to Brian. "What with the baby and all." he said.
