We eventually came to the bridge where Megatron, Airachnid, and Soundwave all were gathered.
"Wow, a greeting party. Adorable." I said nonchalantly, Megatron cocking a ridge at me. "What do you want anyway?"
"The relics you possess." Megatron said.
"Puh, that all? Give me one good reason why I should even let you so much as look at them?" I said, shoving past the vehicons and approaching the warlord. Everyone besides Megatron tensed up, Megatron watching me with curiosity.
"Because we have something precious of yours, and if you don't want any harm to come to him," Megatron growled, towering over me. "You will comply."
"You have Optimus?" I asked, keeping my tone flat. But internally? I was panicking.
"Orion Pax is his name. If you want him to remain functioning I suggest you comply."
"Even if I wanted to give you the relics, you cannot use them." I said. "They are bound to the spark of Palatonarus. Only the reincarnation of him can truly weild these relics."
"Then you know where to locate said spark, don't you?" Megatron smirked. "I believe you have his spark, which is the only reason you are still alive."
"And? Your point?" I said, careful with my words. "If you are trying to gain loyalty or respect from me, this isn't the way to do it. Give me an actual good reason for why you brought me here that doesn't involve the relics."
"You intrigue me." Megatron said. "Palatons are a lost breed of being, crusaders that follow the path of righteous light. Yet such a group has remained in myth for millennia, I wonder why that is?"
"To keep the relics safe first and foremost. Can't go hunting for a relic no one knows about." I said. "But I know you actually aren't interested in the Palatonic Guardians or our nature. You only seek to corrupt the relics for nefarious purposes, which cannot be done even if you tried." I said, making sure the confidence in my tone was apparent despite not fully knowing if it was true or not.
"That is where you are wrong Palaton." Megatron said, a hint of lust in his optics. "I am very much interested."
"Liar. Look let's just cut the scrap and get to the part where you have your goon over there toss me around like a rag doll." I said, casually gesturing to Soundwave. Soundwave displayed a 😐 on his visor at my words, clearly unsure of how to respond.
"That won't be necessary, so long as you play by my rules, you and Orion will not be harmed." Megatron said, a massive servo placed on my shoulder. I stiffened at the touch, looking away from the warlord. Externally I was fairly stoic, but internally my mind was racing as I tried to analyze what Megatron was plotting. "Escort our guest to his berthroom."
I was once again surrounded by the vehicons and lead through the halls. Out of the corner of my optic I spotted Optimus, my spark fluttering as I stopped and stared. Optimus then noticed me and had a look of wonder on his face.
"Palaton, we have to keep moving." One of the vehicons said.
"Wait, why is a Palatonic Guardian here?" Optimus asked.
'Does he not recognize me?' I thought, realizing that I could not sense the Matrix within him. 'This must be who he was before... oh no.'
"He is a guest as per Lord Megatron's request." The vehicon said. I was then torn away from his sight, my spark hurting as I was then lead into a simple berthroom. The door was shut behind me as two vehicons stood guard, my facade breaking as I sat on the berth. I silently wept and wept, my arms wrapped around myself as I continued to sob.
'He.has to remember me... even just a little. Please, Primus, please! Have him remember me!' I begged internally.
"Orion, this is a restricted section." I heard a vehicon that was guarding my berthroom say.
"I wish to speak with the Palaton. He may be of assistance in decoding the database." I heard Optimus say. I wiped my optics and took in a shaky vent, desperately trying to regain my composure.
"We can not allow anyone to speak with him at this time. Lord Megatron's orders." I then went to the berthroom door and opened it, careful with how I acted in front of the guards. I spotted Optimus and gave the curious mech a small smile.
"Hello, Orion, was it?" I asked, I swore I saw his cheekplates turn a shade of blue.
"I um, yes. I was hoping I could speak with you." Optimus said.
"Of course, shall we walk and talk?" I said, shooting the vehicon guards a look that caused them to fear following. I casually walked beside Optimus, his gaze running along my frame.
"I have heard stories of the Palatons, but I never imagined that they were true."
"Much of our nature was kept secret for a reason, Orion, due to the burdens that we carry. Or at least in my case, what I carry." I said with a sad look.
"There... there are no more of you?"
"No, I'm the only surviving Palatonic Guardian. Thus, it is my burden to carry the relics of Palatonarus."
"I can't imagine how it must feel to carry such a responsibility." Optimus said.
'You do. You just can't remember.' I thought, my wings twitching on my back.
"It is something that I have grown to accept. I was reluctant at first, unsure, and very much afraid. I still am to a degree, but I'm learning." I said, giving Optimus a sad smile. I watched as his faceplate went a brilliant blue all the way to his audials.
"Palaton. Where is your guard?" I heard Megatron say sternly.
"I don't need a guard. I am perfectly capable of taking care of myself." I said, keeping my face as neutral as possible. "I appreciate the concern, though." I then looked up at Optimus and gave him a cute smile. "I enjoy your company Orion, perhaps if Megatron permits, we can speak more often."
"I... I would enjoy that." Optimus said, his optics watching as I walked past him and Megatron. I then heard Megatron start to speak to Optimus and pressed myself flat against a wall.
"Orion, I believe it would be in your best interest to stay away from the Palaton. Attatchment is a dangerous thing for them."
"I can't help it, hes... quite attractive." I heard Optimus say, and I couldn't help but blush. "I think... I think I've fallen for him."
'Oh sweet Solus Prime.' I thought, my spark fluttering like it did when he first admitted his attraction to me. I then heard Megatron sigh in annoyance.
"As long as it doesn't interrupt your work, I suppose I can allow it for now. But I will warn you, Orion. Palaton's are flighty with their emotions."
'You don't know the half of it.' I thought, leaning casually against the wall as I heard Optimus aproach and round the corner.
"So, you think I'm attractive?" I asked, startling the Pits out of him. I found myself becoming flustered as he looked at me with a blue faceplate. "I-I-I um. Sorry that was extremely forward."
'Why am I stammering?! I love him. Why can't I just be fragging smooth?'
"You uh, heard that?" Optimus said.
"Yeah, and um, look, I suck at expressing emotions." I said, pulling him forward and pecking his cheek. I swear I heard his engine rev at the contact. "I um. I'll see you around?"
"Y-yeah."
