Guardians And Primes (TFP Optimus x Mech!Reader)

"Something doesn't feel right." I whispered, peering over to the cave entrance with Smokescreen, Arcee, and Bumblebee on either side of me, Optimus and the others were on the opposite side I looked over to Magnus and waved for him and the Wreckers to wait, carefully approaching the cave with my weaponry drawn. I couldn't sense any Dark Energon or anything in that realm of possibility.

I cautiously poked my helm into the cave and spotted Shockwave with the remains of Shellshock on a medical table. Massive tubes of golden liquid lined the cave, and from what I could tell, there were protoforms growing in them. With Shockwave were around 15 vehicons, all of them moving things about inside.

I quickly signaled for the others to move in, all of us charging in. Several vehicons open fired at us, a wild battle ensuing.

"Shockwave!" I snapped angrily, charging at the one opticed mech and bashing my shield into his face. The impact sent him stumbling backward.

"It is illogical to -"

"Oh shut up, you overgrown chassis!" I barked, slashing at Shockwave and slamming my shield into him again and again. Shockwave blasted at me with his cannon, and I rolled out of the way, bashing and slashing at him in response. "Tell me what you were planning on doing with Shellshock's corpse!" I demanded, my blad locking against Shockwave's cannon.

"That is none of your concern." Shockwave said, pushing me back into one of the large tubes. I grunted and charged again, a battle cry escaping me as I slammed my shield into him. I felt a sharp pain run up my arm from the impact and quickly backed off, my denta clenched. "Your attacks are most illogical, especially with that disgrace of an arm."

"You're one to talk." I growled, the pair of us circling each other. "What are you hiding, Shockwave?"

"None of your concern."

"Like frag, it isn't. Shellshock was a Disciple of Unicron for Primus sake! What is your reasoning for tampering with her?"

"Since you insist. It was to lure you here."

"What?" I asked in pure shock, my guard lowered just enough for Shockwave to fire a blast into my chest. I grunted in pain and quickly darted out of his sight, summoning the healing abilities and running the light over my arm and chest. The pain subsided, and I was quick to my pedes again, taking flight and landing on top of one of the large tubes. I spotted Shockwave at one of the control panels, and I dove down and slashed at him.

Shockwave dodged my strike and countered with his own, hitting my shield again and again. I felt my energy levels drop as I struggled against him, grunting as the pain returned to my arm. I then smacked him with the flat of the blade and kicked him as hard as I could, sending him stumbling back.

"Optimus, I have to fall back for a moment." I said through the comlink, making a retreat to a hiding spot outside the cave. I let out a massive grunt of pain and slid down to my aft. I once again summoned the power and ran it over my new arm, a sigh of relief leaving me as the searing pain subsided again. I shakily stood and ran back into the cave, engaging with the remaining vehicons when I couldn't spot Shockwave.

I continued to fight despite being on the border of passing out, slashing and smashing the clones with all the fury I could muster. I was venting heavily and struggling, my legs giving out, and I fell on my chest. The sound of battle continued to rage on, and then everything went silent.

"Y/D! Are you alright?" I heard Optimus call, his heavy pedesteps running over to me.

"Nng... I overdid it." I groaned, too tired to move. Optimus then carefully helped me up, my frame resting against him as I tried to stay awake. "Where'd Shockwave go?" I asked.

"He got away, sir." Ultra Magnus said.

"Oh, for the love of Primus!" I exclaimed in annoyance, wincing a little and grabbing at my arm. "Frag... Ratchet's gonna kill me."

"Ultra Magnus, you and the Wreckers deal with the destruction of this lab. I will be taking Y/D back to base with the others." Optimus said, scooping me up bridal style. I let out a yelp of surprise as he did so, my uninjured arm wrapping around his neck and my face buried in his chassis in embarrassment. As we went to leave, I could hear Wheeljack snickering in amusement.

"Told ya he's a bottom." Wheeljack whispered poorly to Bulkhead. In response, I did something known as 'flipping the bird' at Wheeljack. "Oof, rude." He chuckled.

When we returned to base , I sat in the medical berth once again, and Ratchet was checking on my arm.

"It's still fully functional, but you definitely overdid it. I suggest you stay out of combat for a bit until you've fully recovered." I gave him a grunt in response, too tired to really argue.

Optimus then helped me back up and guided me to our berthroom, shutting the door behind us. I carefully detached Riftwall, the shield retracting and exposing my frail looking arm. I gently sat it and Riftweld to the side before climbing into the berth with Optimus, my legs straddling his waist. Optimus looked up at me with a curious look, his optics running over my frame.

"Did... did you feel like something was off at the lab?" I asked as I settled onto his chassis.

"I will admit, it was... suspicious. However, I am thankful we did not have to face one of your many demons again." Optimus said as he placed a kiss on my helm. "I do have to wonder what Shockwave's intentions were with Shellshock's remains."

"He said that it was to 'lure me out.' Yet I don't think that was the whole truth. It was like he was only telling a partial truth." I said, snuggling into Optimus as he wrapped an arm around me.

"We may never know his full intentions, but for now, we can only be grateful that it was not what it seemed."

A/N at the time of writing this, I couldn't remember what it was that was used as a lure for the Autobots that led to the destruction of Shockwave's lab. Then I remembered when I finished writing and wanted to deck myself, but oh well.
