"Hey there, baby girl. You ready to go home?" Josh asked as he was busy strapping his daughter in her car seat.
"I know I'm ready to head home. These last 48 hours in the hospital have been absolutely crazy," Maya said as Josh smiled at his fiancé.
"I know it has been, but now we get to take on a new crazy at home," Josh said.
"Yeah, we do. How do you think will Lily be able to adjust at home? It's a lot for her to take in," Maya said.
"I'm hoping she will adjust fine with everything. I really don't think we have the time or energy to struggle with a fussy baby," Josh said.
"Any baby is fussy. Say, yeah, Daddy. Any baby is fussy," Maya said as she smiled at her daughter.
"I still can't believe we get to experience this moment. Taking our daughter home without any health problems. I feel so grateful for that," Josh said as Maya looked at him.
Throughout Maya's whole pregnancy Josh was afraid of what could happen due to his medical history. The fact that Lily could have been born early, put into the NICU or could have suffered from weak lungs were always something that Josh was worried about and now with her birth he was thankful and grateful that she was healthy.
"We both are. Come on. Let's get our girl home," Maya said.
