Y/N's POV
I just came out of the memory and blinked with my eyes to re-adjust to the darkness from the Undercroft.
Sebastian was standing a few feet away from me. His body turned so his back was facing me.
"Sebastian?" I asked, my voice barely audible.
Why was he standing like that? I kicked him out just in time, didn't I? He could not have seen Anne, I was sure of it.
Sebastian remained silent. His head turned towards the floor. Suddenly a sad and gloom feeling dawned down on me. I could still feel him... not as clear as before, but his emotions were still coming through.
"Sebastian what-"
"When?"
I've never heard that tone in his voice. It was cold, yet so vulnerable.
"Uhm I'm sorry what do mean?"
"When did you see my sister?"
Shit! Ofcourse he found out. I should have known...
"Answer me Y/N. When did you see her. Was it right after what happened last year? Or during the summer?"
"It was more recently." I said my voice shaking.
"Surely before we got together, right?"
Sebastian finally turned around and faced me. The look on his face tugged on my heartstrings. I had expected him to look angry, but instead he looked hurt. His feelings were oozing into my soul.
I swallowed hard, blinking away tears. To see a loved one get hurt is devestating, but to feel it as well, is too much.
"Why don't you answer me." He said as he took a step forward. His eyes were glaced over, his lips a thin line.
"We were already together. But please let me explain what-"
"Wait a minute. It was that sunday wasn't it? That day that you wanted to study?" He said as he made quotation marks in the air.
"I searched the whole castle for you that day, because I really wanted to see you, even if it was for just five minutes. But you were nowhere to be found. No one knew where you went. I didn't think too much of it then, but now it all makes sense."
"Sebastian, your sister reached out to me. She wanted to know our side of the story off that night in the catacomb and I had promise her not to tell you. As much as it pained me, I didn't have a choice."
"There is always a choice Y/N and even though you made a promise to Anne, you and I had a promise first. When you agreed on being together with me, I thought that it meant that we would be honest to each other. A relationship is build on trust, you know."
"Sebastian, I am so sorry. But she promised me that she would reach out to you soon, I- I think our conversation went really well and it made her think and reconsider that there was so much more to the story.''
"If what you're saying is true, then why didn't she reach out to me? You visited her weeks ago, so it doesn't really add up, does it?"
"Sebastian I swear to you that what I'm telling you is the truth."
''I just can't understand how you did it. Keeping this from me when I told you how I lose sleep at night thinking off her. Always worrying about her well being." Sebastian paced around in front of me.
"I have been nothing but honest to you, I shared personal things that I never told anyone, yet all you did was lie.''
''That's not fair Sebastian. I have told you very private things as well. The only thing I kept from you was that I talked to your sister. I have only seen her once, it's not like I am constantly in contact with her behind your back.''
