A/n: This is the final ending for this book, as well as the second ending in which you choose none of the love interests! This one isn't angsty, since I felt like you deserved a happy ending even if you don't want to be with any of them. So enjoy the last ending!

..........

You wiped the sweat off your forehead before taking a big gulp of cool water from your water bottle. Luckily, it had stayed cool even in the desert, thanks to a handy new power of yours.

Since recovering from your fight with Dottore, you'd ended up earning a cryo vision which, thankfully, wasn't corrupt. It came in handy with all the desert exploration you'd been up to lately, and you were always thankful to have something like it to cool you off.

It was a little ironic, considering Dehya had once found you out in this very desert as human ice cube. Now, you worked to help protect said desert using your very own cryo powers. Times really had changed since then, but you were happy about it.

You had spent a good while recovering in Aaru Village, which gave you plenty of time to think and reflect, as well as decide what course of action you wanted to take with the rest of your life. Before, you hadn't even been able to think that far ahead, considering your main concern was the fact that you didn't want your vision or Dottore to kill you. A future hadn't exactly seemed like something you'd get the privilege of experiencing at the time.

But now, here you were. You'd ended up taking Candace up on an offer she made for you to become a desert scout for the village. Something about the idea of it had just seemed right and now you couldn't have been happier about your choice.

Most of your duties involved patrolling different areas of the desert for potential dangers or changes in conditions, and then reporting back to the village. You lived with Candace in her home, but you were slowly saving up enough money to move into your own place so you wouldn't have to burden her with the presence of yet another person who needed her.

Though you'd never expected to end up doing things like this with your life, you had to admit, you enjoyed it a lot.

You even still saw the others often; Dehya, for one, always came by the village to check up on you and Candace. Cyno came around sometimes too, and you always made sure to take time off of work to visit Sumeru City and see Nilou's performances. You also met up with Tighnari and Collei whenever you went, which was really nice since they didn't often come to the desert and you wouldn't have seen them otherwise.

Overall, it was nice. You got to stay in Sumeru just like you'd wanted, and your new duties even allowed you to help the nation you'd once nearly harmed.

Plus, you felt some peace of mind knowing you could help other people who might end up in your situation. After all, if anyone else were to show up as human popsicles in the middle of the sands, you would probably be the first to find them.

You didn't want anyone else to ever go through what you had, especially since you didn't know whether or not the vision experiments were still happening. For all you knew, another harbinger could have taken them on and was creating even more corrupt visions to send to Sumeru. But if that were the case, you had confidence you could handle the situation with everyone else's help.

The only thing you weren't content about in your new life was your family, and your mood instantly worsened as you thought of them, now making your way back towards the village to prepare for dinner.

Yesterday, you'd received news about them from someone in Snezhnaya you'd reached out to. You still didn't feel safe returning to the icy nation yourself, so an acquaintance you'd once met in school was looking into what had happened to your parents for you.
