"Oh, if you say so." You glanced back over your shoulder. It seemed like he'd been looking in Katsuki's direction, but you didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. He was just as frowny faced as always. Maybe you were reading into things too much.

As expected, Aizawa didn't reveal any additional information as to what the practical exam would consist of. There was probably no real way to prepare for it, and you'd just have to believe in all the skills you'd honed since starting the school year.

When it was time for lunch, you headed over with Izuku, Iida, and Uraraka, but a flash of indigo and a familiar voice as you entered the cafeteria made you stop in place.

My cute upperclassman radar is going off!

You turned, and sure enough, your beloved senpai was walking and chatting alongside a tall, blonde male student. You felt your temples flush and you hastily told your friends you'd be right back before rushing over towards him with your arms outstretched.

"Tamaki-kun!"

"W-Wha-?!"

The poor boy staggered backwards, just barely managing to keep his balance as you burrowed your head into his chest. It was a rather aggressive hug, and you felt kind of bad about it, but you were really excited to see him. It actually took a moment to recall just how incredibly timid he was, and you mumbled out a quick apology, only to pull away and see how violently red his entire face had turned.

"I'm sorry," you apologized again. He looked just about ready to faint. "I didn't mean to surprise you like that. I just wanted to catch you before you got in line."

Tamaki took a moment to catch his breath, then, after realizing it was you, seemed to somehow flush even more red. "Oh... [N-Name]... hello again..."

Before you even had a chance to speak, the boy beside him broke out into a grin. "Ah, so this is [Name]-chan! I finally get to meet the girl Tamaki's been telling me about!"

"Mirio!" Tamaki squeaked, looking absolutely horrified. "W-Why would you say something like that...?!" He looked back at you, violently shaking his head. "So sorry... I haven't been talking about you, I promise! Mirio likes to say funny things sometimes... I swear I'm not a weirdo! I mean, I'm sure that's what a weirdo would say, but... um..."

He was steadily turning into a little puddle of shame, and you had to smile reassuringly so that he knew everything was fine.

"It would've been fine even if you had talked about me. You're Mirio-kun, right?" you turned, taking some of the attention off poor Tamaki for a moment.

"That's me!" he grinned.

"Tamaki-kun said you were really good friends. It's nice to be able to meet you."

You met him in a handshake, and Tamaki was just barely watching the whole scene unfold between the cracks in his palms. He moved his hands down his face, just a bit.

"Two people, already on friendly terms after just meeting," he muttered bitterly. "What I wouldn't do to have that kind of confidence..."

"But you should have confidence," you protested. "Your Quirk sounds so cool, and you're super nice and handsome."

"H-Handsome?!" Tamaki's shoulders began to tremble. He covered his face again, too mortified to dare look you in the eye. "Do you see what I mean, Mirio...? There's no way she means any of the stuff she's saying! A blatant lie like that... I'm so embarrassed I might actually die! I'm going home!"

Mirio laughed and patted his friend's shoulder. "You're not going anywhere, Tamaki. [Name]-chan, did you want to sit down and grab lunch with us?"

"I'd love to, but I'm already having lunch with my friends." You scanned the cafeteria. They'd probably already found a table. "I don't know where they went, but I'll find them in a bit. They're used to me getting excited and running off every now and then."
