You'd just left Tamaki behind to deal with those three villains, and as you ran alongside the rest of your allies, you couldn't help but notice the way Kirishima kept nervously biting down on his lip.

"I'm worried," he admitted, wearing an uncharacteristic frown. "Senpai... I hope he's going to be okay. We really left him all on his own..."

"Tamaki won't lose," you stated, and despite the fact that you'd never actually seen him fight before, that was what your gut was telling you. He wasn't part of the Big Three for nothing. The only thing he lacked was confidence, but if he was strong enough to overcome his fears and insecurities, then surely, a few measly villains wouldn't stand a chance.

Fat Gum turned towards you and Kirishima, half-scowling. "Well, at least one of you believes in him. Listen here, Red Riot. The true mark of a man is the ability to place your full trust in someone who's got your back!"

"O-Oh." Kirishima blinked a few times, only to flash a sharp-toothed grin. "Well, in that case, senpai's definitely going to be okay!"

Izuku chuckled awkwardly. "I think you might be a little too easily swayed..."

"Fat Gum and [Name] both say that senpai's going to be fine, so who am I to doubt them? That wouldn't be very manly of me!"

"Let's try to cut the chatter," Sir Nighteye said. He gestured further down, towards the end of the hallway. "That way. Let's head up those stairs."

You kept advancing alongside the group, but all things considered, it was a bit strange that there hadn't really been any interference thus far. Apart from the three villains Tamaki was currently fighting, you'd been making steady progress for the last little while.

"That guy who can manipulate the underground, Irinika, hasn't made any more moves," Aizawa frowned. "The path isn't twisting at all anymore. The fact that we've been running through the labyrinth without encountering any obstacles must mean he's not able to precisely manipulate the entirety of this area. The police force is concentrated up above, along with Suneater. It may be possible that his attention is focused over there."

"You're saying his range of control is limited?"

"Possibly. His real body might have to be near the particular area he wants to manipulate, acting as his eyes and ears in order to observe what's going on. There's a good chance that he's moving across the surface of the underground's walls in order to see what's happening, rather than completely assimilating himself within."

You glanced around, lips twisted into a grimace. Ugh, how frustrating. Your Quirk only worked on people you could actually see, but clearly, this Irinika guy had no intention of showing himself. There was no telling when he'd strike next.

Like right now, apparently.

"...shit!"

The wall beside you suddenly erupted outward, trapping Aizawa in its path. He was being forcefully pushed into a gaping crater that would no doubt send him god knows where, but before he could get hit, Fat Gum jumped in front and pushed Aizawa to safety.

"Kirishima...?"

You blinked. Sure enough, the redhead was gone. He must have jumped to protect Aizawa out of pure reflex, along with Fat Gum. Both of them were now nowhere to be found. Sucked into a different area of the underground, no doubt. The enemy was hellbent on separating all of you and picking you off, one at a time.

Unfortunately, you didn't have the luxury of worrying about your friend. Irinika was at it again. The ceiling, the walls, and the floor were now all twisting out of shape, gradually closing in on all sides. Forget moving forward and apprehending Chisaki-you could no longer move, period. You'd never really had a fear of cramped spaces before, but you could feel yourself becoming claustrophobic in real time.
