Jack
They were sitting on the floor again, a bowl of chocolates between them. She was using him as a distraction, which he actually didn't mind.
"Are you male?"
He sighed, lifting up the piece of chocolate. She scribbled it down, and he laid on his side, propped up on his elbow. He liked hearing her talk to him. Hated that she couldn't hear him talk back.
"Are you-"
She was cut off by the faint sound of music, and they both turned their heads to her balcony. She slowly stood, and he followed eagerly as she opened the doors. They walked out, and he peered down into the courtyard below. Anna and Kristoff were down there, dancing.
Oh, he loved dancing.
He'd never had an actual partner before, but he used to practice constantly. Sandy saw him once, and for months after he dreamed of nothing but dancing. All kinds. Waltzes, folk dancing, ballroom dancing. Every night Sandy had a different dance for him to learn, with a partner he could touch, even though they were never real. He was grateful, of course. But when he woke, often more times than not he was depressed to have woken up at all.
"Do you think she's told him yet?" She asked softly, and he smiled, leaning against the railing, as close to her as he could without actually touching.
"I'm not sure."
She leaned forward, resting her head in her arms as she watched them.
"I know it may not have looked like it earlier. But I am happy for them. They deserve this."
"So do you. I'm sorry."
She was quiet for a while, watching them with what looked to him like longing.
"Before you died, did you dance with anyone?"
"No. But I'm a good dancer."
"I haven't. It was always too... close. Too dangerous."
She hadn't either? Not even after she got her powers under control?
"I'm jealous of them. They were made for each other. The only way they'd hurt each other would be if they chose to. And they won't. They're going to have the greatest family. And that child... that child is going to be so loved." She whispered, her voice wavering.
"You're still apart of their family. I know it won't be the same... but I'm sure it'll be a good different. You're going to be a wonderful aunt."
She sighed, slipping away from the balcony railing and heading back inside. She took a seat at the bowl, and he followed her, not sitting down.
"If you could believe in me, I'd dance with you. You wouldn't have to worry about hurting me. And I wouldn't hurt you."
She picked up her quill, and he looked down at the bowl, shaking his head. He flew over to her vanity, allowing the mirror to frost over again.
"Please don't die, please don't die."
He slowly wrote his message for her in the mirror, before turning and pacing back to the bowl. He picked up a chocolate, and she smiled.
"Ready to continue?" She asked, and he walked over to the vanity, placing the chocolate down.
She stood, slowly stepping closer.
"I think you'd be a great dancer?" She read aloud, and he grinned at the fact that she hadn't dropped dead from fright.
"Are you serious?" She spat, throwing down her quill.
