We're in this together - A Bad Batch Story

The past few weeks had been very hard. You had barely come to terms with Echo's death and then you lost Fives as well, it was all becoming to much. Not to mention what Fox said, no it didn't bother you at first but now looking back at the conversation you started to believe what he said.

"And besides, he must have been hit on the head to be friends with a defective like you"

A defective.

That's all you were to the other clones. A mistake. A lab rat. A waste of space.

And you started to believe them, until you met Echo, Fives and the rest of domino squad. You didn't have enough time to get to know the rest of the squad well enough because of the rishi moon outpost but you wish you got to know them better and you still miss the 3 fallen dominoes.

And with that you lay down on your bed and thought, thought about your life here on kamino and how you could leave. You made the decision to leave the day Fives died, there was no reason for you to be here if you weren't waiting for Fives and Echo to come back from missions.

You'd started using your studies to your advantage and learning about different types of shuttles and how to fly them and also the safest planets you could find refuge on, you decided on the planet Ord Mantel, it wasn't to close but also not to far away from Kamino and it was also quite safe and secure.

You thought about telling Rex your plans but eventually decided against it. He would try to convince you to stay on kamino and you might second guess yourself about leaving but you knew you needed to do it and leave the planet you didn't know why, well you did but there was also another reason but that reason was unknown to you. It was more a feeling, a feeling that something amazing would happen if you left and you wanted to follow your heart.

There was still one flaw to the plan to leave the planet. You didn't have a ship, or any way to get one you were basically stranded. You had originally thought about sneaking onto one of the starships with all the clones that were leaving but they would be going off to battle so that wouldn't be a good idea and then an idea hit you like a time of bricks. A cargo ship, although they could go anywhere in the galaxy there is one that comes once every two weeks from Ord Mantel and you just had to be on that ship when it left.

You got out your data pad and checked the schedule for the ships arriving and leaving, the Ord Mantel ship was leaving tomorrow. 'Perfect' you thought to yourself. That gave you plenty of time to pack yourself a bag and write a letter explaining why you had to leave.

You started with you bag, you didn't own many things but out s few change of clothes in, a small blanket that Echo got for you, your data pad that had all the photos on of your brothers and a couple other necessities. Next was the letter. You didn't know who in particular you were addressing it to but you wrote everything you needed them to know.

And that was it, you were ready to leave and start a new life on Ord Mantel with no one, just yourself and that's all you needed. You thought about going to hang out with the 501st for your last day on Kamino but you thought if you spent time with them you would second guess your decision to leave so you sat on your bed in silence waiting for the night so you could sneak onto the ship. Yes there would be maintenance clones working in the hanger but most of the time they are half asleep you just need to make sure you get past them without being seen which will be easy.

You checked the time on your holo pad every 5 minutes it felt like because you needed to find this perfectly if you wanted to leave. You were lucky your room was very close to the hanger so you had to sneak through the corridors for a very short amount of time.

You checked your holo pad one last time and it was time to go, you slung your back pack over your shoulder, left the letter on your pillow and walked towards the door, before you opened it you turned around and took one last look, all the memories you had in that room with Echo and Fives and you were just leaving it all behind. You sucked in a breath and left the room.
