You had been running for hours.

The wind was blowing through your hair, the howling practically deafening you as you zigzagged through the trees, doing anything you possibly could to get out of their sight.

"Just a little further," you thought to yourself as you felt your energy start to leave your body completely.

But just how far was 'a little further'?

Your vision started to blur as your ability to breathe slowly faded with every step, less and less oxygen passing through your body with every breath.

You had no choice.

You had to stop.

But their voice. Their voice kept squeezing all hope from your brain like a python.

"You can't go far, Y/N~" they purred, their manipulative tone making your muscles tense further.

"If I stop, what will become of me then?" You thought, your steps slowly becoming effortless.

"If I stop, they'll find me, and I can't let that happen. I can't go back to how things were." Your mind started to race as your body became slow and sluggish, your exhaustion taking over and drowning out any other feeling you had.

You came to a halt, your chest heaving up and down as you practically gasped for air, needing the chemical that keeps your heart beating.

But it wasn't enough.

Your vision started to become blurry - the green world around you became shrouded in a blanket of ink, white spots starting to pulse around in your vision like a crowd of paparazzi with flashing cameras.

Your conscience was slipping away, and you were completely aware of that.

You felt your senses fade, being consumed by the ink around you, feeling every ounce of your hope fade away.

And then, you fell to the ground.

~

Your eyes slowly peeled open, and the blinding, white light that hung above you awoke your senses faster than you would have liked.

You took a deep breath and the scent of tea loomed in the air, along with the smell of freshly bakes pastries - your stomach rumbled in need, feeling your sudden hunger hit you like a pouncing snake.

You started to gently claw around with your hands, feeling soft fabrics brush against your fingertips as you traced the patterns of the creases with your skin.

Then, you blinked a couple of times, adjusting your eyes to the light of the room before lazily sitting yourself up, starting to scan the room before you.

It looked like a medical ward - except, you could tell that you were not in a hospital.

It was much too small, and the door that led out into the hallway was much more similar to that of a train's, with a dark, crimson-red carpet lining the matte, grey walls.

There were nurses in the room, some walking around, some treating patients, and others having their own little chatter. The room's quietness gave quite a relaxing feel - the gentle voices coming from the nurses swirling around the room, giving it a nice, comforting aura.
