Lloyd back up as the two of them approached him slowly, waiting to draw the first strike.
BAM! Nora punched him right in his lip, causing it to bleed. Lloyd tried to use the broken bottle to defend himself but it was quickly taken from him by Genevieve, who threw it to the ground angrily, causing it to shatter.
Mr Clifton licked the blood off of his lip and put his fights up to shield himself.
"Look," Lloyd attempted to negotiate, "I'm not going to fight two women—"
"Shut up," Nora hushed him.
KICK! Genevieve kicked him in the shins, causing him to hold his leg. Nora kicked his other foot and swept him to the floor. CRASH! The sound of his body falling to the floor as he was now vulnerable to their attacks at that point. Nora and Genevieve began to kick him violently as he held his head in his arms, trying to protect himself from their assault. KICK. KICK. KICK. He was still moving. KICK. KICK. KICK. More blood splattered onto the floor. KICK. KICK. KICK. He stopped moving.
Nora and Genevieve stood still for a few minutes before looking back towards me, to which I shrugged my shoulders. Lloyd continued to lay there, unconscious and still on the floor.
The two sat down at the dining table to collect themselves and I decided to sit next to them while waiting for breakfast to commence. It was about time for breakfast.
Just then, two more people had walked into the dining hall. I turned back to see Mr Hughes and Adeline strolling into the dining hall together since I had forgotten to escort Adeline back inside after the fight. He sat her down and then noticed Mr Clifton on the floor, unconscious.
He pointed at Lloyd. "What happened to him?" he questioned, stroking his beard.
Nora looked over to John, noticing him. "Oh yeah, Genevieve and I beat him up," Nora stated proudly.
"He was only beat up? Why, back when I served in the war, they would've told us to keep shooting even if we got shot in the head multiple times," John explained, "his father definitely did not raise him well. His parents must be disappointed."
Nobody knew how to reply to him so we decided to remain silent. He noticed that we were silent and shrugged, starting to tell Adeline various stories about the war he had served in.
"...And while we were fighting there were people on the side on picnics, right on the battlefield," he told, exaggerating his facial expressions to entertain Adeline further, "they soon all left because they realized..."
"Why would they be on a picnic during a war?" Adeline asked, clearly somewhat interested in his stories about the war.
"People thought that the war would make a good date area," he explained further, engaging Adeline's attention, "but then because of modern technology the war wasn't pretty, so they left."
He continued to tell his tales to Adeline while I glanced over to my side to see Nora and Genevieve sitting down, discussing about topics that I couldn't hear most of.
Soon after, Norton had entered the dining hall and sat next to Genevieve, starting a conversation with Nora and Miss Fletcher. The three of them discussed what had happened with Lloyd and what he had done to Miss Roche.
Almost everyone was here, however, I think I should check on Rosalie for a quick second before breakfast.
"Pardon me," I excused myself, getting up from my seat and headed towards Rosalie's room, where I assumed they were in.
I climbed up the stairs that led to an array of rooms and eventually reached the top. I then found Rosalie's room and before knocking, I put my ear up to the door to see if I could hear any information about anything vital. However, all I could hear were muffled voices and mumbled talking, I couldn't make any words out whatsoever.
I sighed as I knocked three times onto the door, somewhat upset that I couldn't eavesdrop on a potentially important conversation about conditions and such.
knock knock knock
I received no reply from either one of the two, but I knew they were in there due to the muffled voices I had heard. Before knocking once more, I put my ear back up against the door again to see if I could hear anything this time. I could make out a few words that a person, who I assumed was Miss Roche due to the feminine pitch, had said.
"He's... annoying. Immature... I,"
I only heard a few words before I couldn't make out what they were saying anymore, so I'd decided to knock again.
After knocking on the door three times once more, I finally got a reply. The door creaked open slightly, revealing Elias with his surgical mask over his face and blood all over his apron and gloves. He looked somewhat irritated to see me, however he addressed me politely besides this.
"May I help you, Miss DeRoss?" he asked, pulling his mask down momentarily to speak to me, "I'm in the middle of something."
"I just wanted to check up on you both, is everyone doing alright?" I asked, hoping he would show me Rosalie.
He opened the door more and I was able to see Miss Roche on her bed that was covered in paper and napkins to avoid blood from getting on her actual bed. There was a makeshift station, replicating a hospitals room, that was arranged in her room in order to perform an operation. She waved to me, some blood still running down her face and she was clearly injured.
I noticed that Elias had an uneasy look on his face; he looked nervous about something, or even guilty. He tapped his foot on the floor in a pattern nervously. He glanced back at Miss Roche and closed the door.
I replayed that image in my head repeatedly, trying to find any details that I could use or may have missed, but it seems I had gotten it all. I shrugged and headed back downstairs, where breakfast would eventually commence.
Finally, I was back in the dining hall, sitting in my usual seat. Almost everyone who were staying at The Manor at the current moment were there, however some did not show up. People for more obvious reasons, such as Elias and Rosalie, didn't show up because of Miss Roches injury. However, Valentina did not come to breakfast, which I would assume was because of the conflict she had with Mr Vidal earlier this hour.
After a few minutes, the butler handed the meals out and we all began to eat. This time though, the silence was filled with separate conversations with one another at the table, which was better than just pure silence. I continued to eat my meal and glanced at the floor, where Lloyds unconscious body was left.
I looked back at my plate of food but then realized I had noticed something odd about his body; his arms had changed positions, he was most likely conscious at this point.
