She was crouching down, her soft belly pressed upon the cold, hard earth. Ready to pounce on her prey. He still had no idea she was watching him, as he marched through the woods. He clearly never had much experience in the ways of hunting and hiding his presence. If the scent didn't tell her of his heritage, she'd have thought him a human with the way he made noise for six of her kind to track him by that alone. None of them had to even sniff the air to find him. The question remained though, how he just appeared in their territory. None of the border controls had picked up anything. It was as if he'd fallen out of the sky or crawled out of the earth at some point.
Again her prey stumbled over a root that was plainly visible to anyone with eyes of nightvision. She took this moment to flex her hind legs, pushing herself forward in a powerful and fluid motion. It was easy to push his already staggering body down fully. Her claws pushing through his clothes and pricking at his skin in a feral warning.
He let out a muffled sound as something heavy pushed him fully off balance. He barely managed to break his fall enough to stop himself from eating dirt. As he wanted to fight back against what had caught him, he felt claws pricking at his skin.
Waiting in terror, his body refused to move, expecting that fatal bite at his nape that would end his life. However even though he felt hot breath against his skin, the bite didn't come.
"You are no ordinary predator, are you?", he asked quietly.
The answer was a feral growl.
