Beyond The Color Violet

I go back to work today. I'm currently a vet but I've always dreamed of being a teacher somehow. I even went to college for it for a couple of months and then switched cause my mom was a vet and my dad was a business man of some sort. I never was very close to my father but he still was my father. My mom was a vet and when they died in the reck I knew I had to do something to feel closer to her. I miss her so much. Also my little sister and brother were in there too. But they were in the back with me and somehow we all survived. They got adopted because when it happened I was in 12th grade so I couldn't provide for all of us. They got put up for adoption and I went and lived with Lennie cause she parents said they would be my illegal guardians.

My brother and sister got adopted by some family and hour or two away from where I live. I'm so busy some days that I can't even call them but most of the time it's the foster parents telling me they're all going somewhere or doing something. I even ask to go somethings and drop all my stuff. They always have the same excuse that they need some family time. I miss them so much I would do anything to see them again.

I just got out of the shower and I'm doing my hair when I hear my phone go off. The alarm says 4:30 which means I've got 30 mins left to get my clothes on. I have to be at the clinic at 6 every morning which means I have to wake up at 4. It sucks but since it's only me living here and sometimes Lennie, plus sending money to axel and Chloe from stuff they want, even though I don't know if they get it cause it goings to the foster parents, their only 8 and 10 so they don't receive their own mail.

Im on the way to get breakfast from a fast food place not sure which one yet. Maybe Starbucks or that Pancake House, no they take forever. Starbucks it is, plus it's only 5 mins from my house and they aren't usually busy at 5 in the morning.

"Hi what can I get you today?" Ask the worker through to drive through. "Umm can I get the iced Carmel latte with whip cream and extra caramel around the cup please, with a birthday cake pop and a brownie cake pop also a lemon loaf please." I say as I look through the menu. " what size will that iced Carmel latte be ma'am?" The menu has Tall, Grande, Venti, and Trenta. " can I get Venti please?" The worker types into he's computer so hard I can hear it through the screen." Okay that will be $12.10 please at the first window." I start driving to the first window. There one car in front of me which gives me enough time to get my card out of my wallet.

"That will be $12.10." She said taking my card. After she gets down swiping it she hands it to me and closes the window.

After I got my food and I've done sorted everything so I can rush into work like usual. I miss the weekend already cause now I have a week long of early mornings and drama. I get the weekends off but that means I have to work all week long and have no break in between. Fuck me.

" hey Elie, did you have a good weekend?" Said Liam from the desk. " oh good wish I could go back but nope got a week long of this." I said to him setting my stuff down at the desk for now. " mhm your glad you have weekends. We had a huge Great Dane come in that is scared of people. The owners wanted him neutered so we had to put the muzzle on him. It took us around an hour just for that. Guess how much gas he had to have to get him asleep." He said now looking back at me. "Oh I don't even wanna know I'm just glad I wasn't here. I probably would have quit." He hummed.

"Amanda quit." He said turning around and looking at the computer. "WHAT!" I quietly scream. "Yup, she looked at him and said word for word.' Fuck that shit I'm out of the pay check.' No one believed it but she did and walked out the door." My mouth was wide open but I quickly closed it when a girl came in with a cat.

"Hi! How can I help you?" Liam said to her. " I called yesterday and I have an appointment for 7 this morning. She just has to get some shots it said on the computer." He looks her up on the computers. " yup your still in but your quite early for your appointment would you like to wait or would you prefer if we more you closer to 6 cause we have a spot open at 6:30 and it's 6:13. It will cost $10 more just because you are moving her within the 10 hours." He said looking up at her. " yeah that's fine I really need to get done before 7:30 so that's great. Ummm is it okay if I drop her off and go get some food once it's time?" She said. Liam looks back at me and I nod cause I'll watch her. " yeah if that's okay with Elie cause she's be looking after her.- that's fine you go get something to eat." I say towards her cutting him off. "Thank you so much you are a life saver. I'm just gonna hand her to you. She's a sweet cat so you'll have no problem." She hands the cat to me. "Just be back before 7 and you'll be fine." I said looking at her. She then smiles and leaves. "There was something off about that girl I do gotta say." Liam said looking up at me. I thought so too.

" it's 7:30 where is that girl at?" Liam said. Calling her for the 30th times. "What if she doesn't show up. What do we do? I can't have a cat that's too much responsibility." I said walking to Liam. "You'll have to keep her, you know my dogs will kill her. Your the only on that can do it." One of my other coworkers said to me. Fuck a cat? Not even a dog. I would rather it be a dog.

It's currently 4:53 and I'm packing up a cat, borrowed some food from the clinic and now I'll have to go to the store. Great, what is Lennie gonna say about this. "Come on you pretty girl." The cat doesn't wanna go into the crate at all she's so scared. " I know, I know, you'll be okay I promise. You're coming home with me and you'll have the best time of your life." I said to the cat like she can hear me. " you need some help with her? Hi kitty!" Liam said. I look at him and then at the cat
. "Your turn to try to get her in the stupid thing." holding the cat out to Liam. "Fine."

"Umm im going into the store I'll be back in a few minutes, don't go no where!" I said to the cat that's in my back seat. We never got her in the crate so we just put her in my car. She's being good and just lying down. "Meow." She pretty much just replied to me. Oh lord.

" Hi how can I help you today?" Said the worker. "Oh I'm just getting something for a cat that's all." I said back. " okay I'll be walking around if you need any help anytime." He said walking away. Okay well where the cat shit. I'm not a crazy cat lady I'm a vet. I pull out my phone and look for Lennies contact. I push the call button and put the phone to my ear.

"Hola bitch, what you want?" Said Lennie. "I don't know what to do." She stops moving around. " is everything okay? Where are you? - I'm fine. At work today a girl came in with a cat and she never came back. It's in my car and I'm at the store getting cat shit. I don't know what I'm doing." She stays silent what is she doing? "I'll meet you at your house tomorrow and I'll help you. I have to work tonight. I don't feel like it's gonna be a busy night but still. Which you would come back to stripping we all miss you so much." She said as she gets ready I guess. " haha funny be careful." I said hanging up.

I've been home for about three hours now and it's around 8. 'The cats doing fine she's just been sleeping like crazy.' I texted Lennie. She's probably dancing right now so it'll be no telling how long till she can text me back. 'ELIEEEEE!!! I miss you so much girl!' Read the phone. 'Who's this?' I texted back. 'Olivia and sage. Come backkkkk please...' oh lord them girls are a mess. They're always in trouble. 'I can't I have a stable job and I would rather not have to worry about walking to my car with my pepper spray and knife. Y'all need to come see me soon I miss y'all too.'
'We have to go bye girl we love you and yea soon.' They replied. 'Bye! Love you to.'

After that I turned my phone off and looked at the cat. " you can sleep anywhere you like. Just don't wake me up in the middle of the night or we'll have a problem." I said looking at the cat on the couch. I walked into my room and changed into pajamas and washed my face. " my bed! I miss you my bed." I said laughing at I laid down. A cat really?
