If someone had told you that Vergil would show up unexpectedly and start playing dodgeball with you - behaving as if this was more of a sparring match than a simple child's game - you would've laughed and told them how good of a joke that was. In fact, you would've laughed so hard that you would've made a mental reminder to retell this joke to Dante and laugh at it all over again.

But now, here you were.

"Ready to lose?" Patty teased you with a nudge on the shoulder, bringing you back from your thoughts. She was way too eager knowing that Vergil was a new addition to her team - as were the children. She had already filled Vergil in with all the rules, to which he listened to attentively. No doubt, he paid strong attention to every single detail. Already planning out what strategies could be used.

"How are you so sure you'll win this time?" you asked, curiously. Patty was quite aggressive as a competitor. She was beginning to get incredibly riled up over the amount of times you had scored her out, but now she was so sure that her team could redeem their losses. They hadn't even seen Vergil in action like you had and already they were putting their faith into him.

"If he's anything like Dante on the field then I have no doubt I'll be winning our bet," she winked mischievously.

Right, the bet you had made with her...

You didn't want to think about the possible outcome of losing. Instead, you turned back to your side of the grid, returning to your miniature teammates. You gave them an optimistic smile.

"Don't feel intimidated guys, we got this, alright?" you encouraged the kids around you. They agreed eagerly, clearly fueled from the previous wins. Hopefully this will be as easy as the last few rounds were.

Turning back, you looked ahead seeing Vergil adjust his fingerless gloves. He caught your gaze but no reaction casted upon his face. That was when you realised he took his cloak off.

To say that this caught you off guard was an understatement. You had never seen Vergil like this. He always wore his cloak like it was his second skin. You were starting to believe he had some kind of attachment issue with it but here he was, in front of you with his arms bare - just his vest hugging his torso. You started to wonder how he would look without that too...

He just looked so... relaxed, without his cloak on. You knew he must've taken it off due to the fact that it would be more convenient to play without it on. You would've never realised how muscular he truly was if he never took off his coat. His forearms were defined impeccably. Every muscle, every vein was sculpted onto him with perfection.

You looked away before he would start to realise you were ogling him and before you had any inappropriate thoughts. These past few days you had tried your best to keep your mind off of him. There was no need to develop emotions for him since it was evident that Vergil wasn't inclined to reciprocate such feelings. Not to mention you barely knew him on tha kind of level. But of course, after being able to avoid Devil May Cry with such a valid excuse, he had to have shown up right when you least expected it. Yet again.
